From what I hear, they inspected the boat earlier today and found nothing. The owner saw a shed door open and blood on the ground/boat so she called the police. He must have moved in after the inspection, and he must have been wounded in the initial gunfight.
They have him cornered in the boat according to Wimpy Smith.

I read they looked into the boat earlier - nothing. The suspect obviously moved to the boat from somewhere else.
