On Monday, the New York Post doggedly stuck to its claim that 12 were killed in the Boston Marathon bombings. On Tuesday, CNN (among others) reported that a suspect had been arrested, before walking that all the way back. Today, the Post wrests back the.....

The New York Post or Dead Spin?
Who is the innocent kid? Because I am not clicking on the link.
Which one said that Sarah Palin and the Tea Party were responsible for the 2011 Tucson shootings?

The kid pictured in the blue jacket is a middle-distance runner at Revere High School. He is standing there because he ran in the marathon
“Who is the innocent kid?”
Yeah, nobody in this story is “innocent”.
Who is Barry Petshesky?
Never heard of him...
The Post was late to the game. The pictures had already been leaked and the two guys did the right thing, Immediately contacting law enforcement and getting cleared.
Now law enforcement doesnt have to track them down.
I suspect they are holding back info out of fear that the bombers are Muslims, or worse for BHO affiliated with Occupy like the idiots that tried to blow a bridge near Cleveland.
It’s not a “witch hunt” for people to see two persons holding bags big enough to carry pressure cookers in the proximity of a bomb attack by pressure cookers and to speculate as to whether those individuals should be investigated.
It’s not a “witch hunt” for law enforcement authorities to circulate photos of two person holding bags big enough to carry pressure cookers in the proximity of a bomb attack by pressure cookers and ask for help in identifying these people in order that they may be investigated.
Sheesh.

The Post lost much of their credibility when they ran with the story that 12 were killed in the Marathon Bombing.
No, but it is really poor "journalism" for the New York Post to have run a story -- and, as of this moment, said story still appears on its website -- stating that law enforcement personnel believe that these two persons may be connected to the bombing, when law enforcement personnel had by that time already determined that the two were not connected.
I believe that that is the issue here.
Yeah but they still better hide for a long time.
I just saw a Facebook post looking for “Russian Bathrobe Guy” with the Fox backpack.
This kid is going to own the NY Post after he sues them.
Its not a witch hunt for law enforcement authorities to.....
Agreed. Sheesh.
(Although it does not follow that a news editor should place their image on the front page of their paper, without strong caveat, and with the implication of guilt.)
Well, keep hunting. In this case we KNOW there are some witches out there.
Among the photos published in that group last night were a couple that appeared to be law enforcement personnel. They went completely nuts.
There was one guy, though, who was carrying a bag at one point, then didn’t have it later. He’d be worth talking to.. if only to establish it was a diaper bag or something.
Every time the authorities have to correct one of these media mis-steps, they risk providing information by elimination that’ll let the perps know when it’s time to get “in the wind”. Bad mojo.
Heck! We still don't know who this Barry Soweto guy is (although there are suspicions).
As late as last night, Fox News was reporting that law enforcement was seeking to identify these two guys and was passing around a photo of these two guys to other LEO (Fox News described them, did not show the photo).
I don’t know when the Late City Final was printed, but how do you know that when it was printed The Post knew these guys had been cleared by investigators? It may be true that the Post should be faulted for not updating and correcting sooner.
This Deadspin article engages in a logical fallacy, put forward in smarmy and condescending fashion, that if someone runs track they ipso facto cannot be a culprit. Huh? These guys may not be the bombers, but the reason would be because the evidence showed they did not plant the bombs, not just because they ran track.
