Let's hope this is a trend.
Washington Examiner:
The United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers is reportedly the first union to officially call for repeal of the Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare. The health care law is prompting some serious buyer's remorse in Big Labor, which worked hard on behalf of the administration to pass it:
Here are some excerpts from the union's statement:
______________________________
"Our Union and its members have supported President Obama and his Administration for both of his terms in office. But regrettably, our concerns over certain provisions in the ACA have not been addressed, or in some instances, totally ignored. In the rush to achieve its passage, many of the Act's provisions were not fully conceived, resulting in unintended consequences that are inconsistent with the promise that those who were satisfied with their employer sponsored coverage could keep it.
These provisions jeopardize our multi-employer health plans, have the potential to cause a loss of work for our members, create an unfair bidding advantage for those contractors who do not provide health coverage to their workers, and in the worst case, may cause our members and their families to lose the benefits they currently enjoy as participants in multi-employer health plans.
For decades, our multi-employer health and welfare plans have provided the necessary medical coverage for our members and their families to protect them in times of illness and medical needs. This collaboration between labor and management has been a model of success that should be emulated rather than ignored. I refuse to remain silent, or idly watch as the ACA destroys those protections.
I am therefore calling for repeal or complete reform of the Affordable Care Act to protect our employers, our industry, and our most important asset: our members and their families."

Won’t they just get an exemption? They won’t be the first.
Suckers! Before the election, you were useful idiots. Now, you're just idiots.
They found out they’d have to carry UIC, Medical Insurance, and provide proof of such. That won’t do for the on-the-books and off-the-books (Mexicans) that slap up your roofs in a day in the cold of winter.
FYI, I saw a ‘roofing crew’ strip a house and reshingle it in less than two days a couple of weeks to go. Weather was rainy, very cold and they started late one afternoon. Laid the felt vertically (a big ass no-no), and just hammered the hell out of them new shingles in 30-40 degree weather.
I did not have the heart to tell the homeowner about all that they did that was wrong.
“ObaMao to Unions:
Suckers! Before the election, you were useful idiots. Now, you’re just idiots.”
Nailed it. I was going to go to the old cliche, lay with dogs, get up with fleas.
Obama/Obamacare supporters are stupid, and don’t think through what they are doing. Give a 2500 page law that no one read to the same people who are running the post office, and what could go wrong?
Morons, idiots, dolts. For this, I’m going to enjoy watching Obamacare shoved straight up their smelly Obama.
These fools are just now realizing that the health care fraud had nothing to do with health care.
“Wont they just get an exemption? They wont be the first”
From what I recall exemptions are only for a year or two. Eventually they are screwed with the rest of us.
Karma
Schadenfreude
.
They could get any exemption the wanted, instantly. They have just figured out that they can't get jobs or employers, and eventually unemployment and welfare will run out of money.
What purpose does it do for anyone to call them useful idiots or saying you hope they get what they deserve.
Conservatives could not/can not get it done without help. Who cares who or how it gets done. Just get it done.
