(JTA) -- A New York teacher who assigned her students to write a persuasive essay on why Jews are evil has been placed on leave and will be disciplined.
The teacher, who has not been named, was placed on leave from her job at Albany High School on Friday, and could face a reprimand or firing, according to the Albany Times Union.
School Superintendent Marguerite Vanden Wyngaard said in a news conference on Friday, where she appeared with members of the Anti-Defamation League and Jewish Federation, that the teacher will be disciplined by the school district and might not return to the classroom this year.
The district also will bring in sensitivity trainers from the ADL to work with the teachers and their students, the newspaper reported.
Wyngaard said the teacher was a long-time employee whose work has never been criticized but said that her assignment "displayed a level of insensitivity that we absolutely will not tolerate."
The writing project, assigned before the class read "Night," by Elie Wiesel, called on the students to research Third Reich propaganda and then write a letter to a Nazi officer arguing that "Jews are evil." One of the three classes given the assignment refused to carry out the assignment, the Times Union reported.

You know the name of the SUPERVISOR.
Do you know the name of the TEACHER in question?
Do you even know if the TEACHER is male, female or undecided?
I did not catch the information provided was the supervisor and that is my fault for not sifting through the article.
Regardless, I’ll pull up Hillary’s quote “At this point, what does it matter?”
It really doesn’t matter whether the teacher is white, black, male or female or undecided. It does not lessen the egregious bias (as I perceive it to be) of the teacher.
I still support the firing of the teacher. This person, of whatever flavor, should not be teaching.

The district is protecting him or her, not one student has been reported as coming forward, nothing.
You would think Twitter and/or Facebook or Instagram could be a source of the truth. However, I’d suspect that the entire establishment on this is locked down wrt who this person is. I cannot think of such an extraordinary protection of this person’s anonymity in other news events.

Absolutely. I think its a good plan to read and study propaganda and discuss why it is used by tyrants but to ask a young person to become that tyrant is disturbing. In high school my son pretty much had his choice of rolls in the school plays. For some reason he asked to play Pontius Pilate in JCSS and led the Nazi singing Caberet. I need to ask him why those two rolls. He said he found it very disturbing.

I’m rereading Mere Christianity. In his discussion of moral good he discussed what the world would be like if there were no absolute good. This sort of encouragement to look at both sides stuff is one of the rotten parts of our culture.
I like to know what the enemy thinks. I will either make it possible to compromise, or ease the conscience when you determine that you need to do all in your power to oppose him and his beliefs.
The Muslim tribal point of view is now a mainstreamed part of multiculturalism’s diversity hate doctrines. They spew hate against Christians and Jews as they play the innocent and outraged morally superior victim tribe. The race doctrines are an poisonous mix of both Marxism’s murderous slander against Christians (global communism) and Nazism’s (National socialism) slander and hatred of Jews.
In the nineties I found diversity Muslim/Nazi hate doctrines against Jews within the Black and Hispanic victim hate spews. Since Islamic radicals now have University and Government power, we see it spreading through government and education like rabies. They have managed to get the Department of inSecurity to officially name Christians as a major enemy of the State - a religious domestic terrorist group.
They have had a lot of help in spreading this slander and it’s unconstitutional remedies against Christians from their radical homo pals in Federal power. Surprisingly, the military is a major, open and proud player in the anti-Christian and anti-American hate game played by radical Muslims and homos. Not properly celebrating gay play in the anus (homophobic) or Islamic infidel head chopping (Islamiphobic) is now the defination of a domestic terrorist enemy of the state.
The Left has outdone themselves in absolute criminal insanity. If they have not already, soon we will see pro-Israel Jewish groups named as terrorist enemies of the State, too.
By the way, the big mouth push to hate and violate whitey’s constitutional bill of rights, has a lot to do with advancing the cause of Shiria speech controls and the Left’s desire to punish Christians for “hate” speech - moral speech or expressing the ideals of American freedom. Hence, the frantic push to disarm the targets of their desired violent persecution.

Sensitivity trainers have made more Nazis than Der Strumer.
What we need is to teach children to be able to understand both sides of an argument and still take a stand. Just because I can understand why someone would seek an abortion doesn't change the ethics of the matter. On the same note I think Bible believing Christians should read or at least be familiar with the arguments of Spencer, Darwin, Dawkins ect.
You are right. This is an English assignment, not a history assignment; and it is unlikely in this day and age that anything short of a college level Modern German History course could prepare them for such an assignment.
There is no way the kids could be prepared to rationally write such an assignment. They could have no idea about the German civil war following WWI with the Freikorps vs. the Spartacists, the Versailles Treaty, the Weimar Republic, etc. All they could write would be hate and ignorance.
She will go into the “rubber room” and get full pay to do nothing for the next few years. Teachers can only be disciplined in NY for praying or voting Republican.
You are correct about knowing your enemy. As a Christian... I know the enemy and from where his/her power is derived. I also know how this all ends.
