I have tried for several minutes to respond to this quote.

The world has always been a brutal place and things like this have always happened. That said, these were soldiers of their country. When the Europeans randomly drew national boundaries with no thought to local cultures they set the whole continent up for a hundred year of failure.

True, there needs to be a complete re-org of Africa

For instance, the Tuaregs need a separate homeland rather than being spread among nations

or in the Congo (could only find a linguistic map, but it shows that Kivu is closer to east africa than to west-southern:
