Albany Think like a Nazi, the assignment required students. Argue why Jews are evil. Students in some Albany High School English classes were asked this week as part of a persuasive writing assignment to make an abhorrent argument: "You must argue that Jews are evil, and use solid rationale from government propaganda to convince me of your loyalty to the Third Reich!" Students were asked to watch and read Nazi propaganda, then pretend their teacher was a Nazi government official who needed to be convinced of their loyalty. In five paragraphs, they were required to prove that

"You were taken in by that verdammte Allied propaganda! Such filthy lies! They told lies! But nobody ever said a bad word about Winston Churchill, did they? No! 'Win with Winnie!' Churchill! With his cigars. With his brandy. And his rotten painting, rotten!"
"Hitler - there was a painter! He count paint an entire apartment in one afternoon! Two Coats! Churchill. He couldn't even say 'Nazi'. He would say 'Noooo-zeeehz, Nooooooooooooo-zeeehz!' It wasn't Noses! It was Nazis! Churchill!...Let me tell you this! And you're hearing this straight from the horse. Hitler was better looking than Churchill. He was a better dresser than Churchill. He had more hair! He told funnier jokes! And he could dance the pants off of Churchill!...Churchill!"
Yeah. Or why muslims can never be trusted in America. Come on teachers - get creative.
“How many of these kids grand and great grandfathers died trying to rid the world of this kind of thinking?”
Very good point. I had a client that I strongly suggested that he join the armed forces, but he told me they wouldn’t take him on account of his tatoos. Yep, swastikas. Two of them on his back. I told him that guys wearing those symbols on their uniforms tried to kill two of my uncles. One flew 35 missions over the Reich, the other was a paratrooper who jumped into Holland and fought at Bastogne. The paratrooper would have killed him with his bare hands. He had no business wearing those tatoos.
Perhaps this so called “teacher” should eat the barrel of a gun like her idol, Hitler, did.
F’n NEA scum!
Interestingly, the swastika is much older than Nazism, originating in India, IIRC -- also the Indians (Native Americans) had a symbol which was the mirror-image of the swastika and meant peace, being the [representation of the] crossing of two arrows, each broken twice -- moreover, the 'swastika' (Gammadion Cross) appeared in early christian art where it was representative of the trinity [hence using Gamma, the Greek third letter, as the basic shape] as told by the four gospels [hence repeating four times, as the arms], and joined at the center [likely because they were all telling the same thing, that is the good news].
Stupid is stupid, third rail is another matter. Add the two and you’ve brewed yourself a national scandal in a teapot.
While everything you say is true, whatever the swastika meant in 1930, it means something very specific now.
My client had no business wearing those tatoos.
The husband’s of my children’s cousin, a teacher like her, and a moonbat, who once replaced his face pic in Fakebook with a hammer and circle symbol, once told his students in, I don’t know, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grade, that there is no God. The bastard is is still teaching.
oh so when leftists get caught all they need to do is apologize? Meanwhile oppose the left and a teacher would be fired.
True, but we face such "change of meaning" every day... it is doubly tragic with words because by screwing up the perceived-meaning in relation to the definitional-meaning lines of communication are crossed/distorted and the message may be corrupted. And example we could use today is the word 'liberal' which really-means "marked by generosity, given or provided in a generous and openhanded way, ample/full, etc" is having the progressive/incremental-philosophy of communism/socialism as a political-methodology, attached to it.
There are also certain historical events that stamp a meaning to an image or symbol that are irrevocable and irrefutable. Hammers and sickles have been in use forever, but when you put them together crossed with their handles, it means a lot more than you like to work with tools.
Hitler did the same with the swastika.

Here’s a thought- Nazis were against homeschooling. Any questions?
Sound familiar? No, not Adolf Hitler. Al Sharpton, Louis Farrakhan, Malik Zulu Shabazz. Eric Holder. Barack 0bama.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
I am very concerned about the anti-Jewish sentiments coming from the left.
