(CNSNews.com) – The Obama administration on Wednesday renewed its request for Congress to let it restore funding to the first United Nations agency to grant full membership to “Palestine,” arguing that defunding runs contrary to U.S. interests.
Complying with U.S. laws dating back more than a decade, the administration in late 2011 reluctantly cut funding to the U.N. Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), depriving the Paris-based agency of 22 percent of its operating budget.
UNESCO head Irina Bokova described the resulting financial crisis as the “worst ever” in the agency’s history, but rather than urge member-states to reconsider the decision to admit “Palestine,” she launched an appeal for alternative funding sources, while urging U.S. decision-makers to relent.

UNESCO recognized a terrorist state. That cost them 22% of their funding, teaching them the real-world lesson that actions have consequences. Obama wants to ignore the law in order to teach UNESCO the far left’s lesson that the natural consequences of actions are avoidable if you have connections with power. Personally, I think it’s better to learn the truth. Keep UNESCO defunded (and maybe defund the rest of the UN as well, they can vote to hate us elsewhere, but not at our expense).
well hell yeah! Obama’s two major prerequisites to receive funding from his administration are:
1. You must hate America
2. You must hate Israel
but a reduction i nthe budget for American seniors and dissasbled people- Swell- let’s just give all our hard earned money to American hating muslim coutnries- while ignorign our seniors who helped BUILD this coutnry- Let’s just htriow them under the bus when they need the help the msot- Yay Aemrica!
