I note that Baby Kim is referred to as dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un. He is not yet awarded the honorific of dear great leader or some such construction. He would still seem to be a dear leader in the trying out stage. That and a new ROK President has a lot to do with the current lunatic spasms form the north. If Baby Kim can get the US or the ROK to pay the Nork’s some more money he will have won a big victory in the strange Kabuki Theater of NK.

The current ROK president is the daughter of the president during my first tour there (1978-79). He was killed by his own KCIA director when I had about a month left on my tour. I was working the DMZ G-2 hotline that night at I Corps as the early warning analyst. At first my ROKA counterparts started getting excited from commercial radio reports they'd heard. We assumed that the DPRK (”North Koreans”) were the culprits, so we were getting ready for whatever, including incursions or even an invasion until we later found out the details. Long night. If she is half as tough as he was, Kim Jong Un will get nothing from her.
