Margaret Thatcher's funeral: Family veto Argentine officials at service
Daily Telegraph ^ | Apr 10, 2013 | Steven Swinford, and James Kirkup

Whitehall officials proposed the presence of Argentine officials at a meeting of the committee which is organising the funeral, code-named Operation True Blue.

The Telegraph understands that Lady Thatcher’s children, Sir Mark and Carol, believe that such protocol would be “inappropriate”.

Sir Mark, who returned to Britain from Barbados on Tuesday, will attend a meeting of the Operation True Blue committee tomorrow to represent his mother’s interests.

The committee, which is meeting on a daily basis, is planning to make the liberation of the Falkland Islands a central part of the ceremonial funeral on Wednesday.

Of course you don’t want any of them attending.Particularly in light of *recent* events they’d just use it as a grandstanding opportunity.Sorry...no Third World Communist bums invited.

I hope they also veto a photo op by odumbo and mooshele. I’m sure that mooshele would love to turn it into another mega vacation in Europe.
It’s too bad that Nancy Reagan is unable to go. That would be most fitting.

I dunno...it seems ungracious to me. That was a long time ago.

By the way, I recently had the opportunity to tell a proper British lady that “we think a lot of Maggie Thatcher” around here. She huffed, and said “She came to think too much of herself.”

We all laughed.

/The wife and I think heaven of Reagan, JP II, and Thatcher.

Like the GOP....seems Whitehall has no clue regarding Hispano-Racist Reconquista pushing Latin American nations. Disrespectful towards the Thatcher family to invite Argos

I wish someone in the ‘News’ would point out that Falkland Islanders are BRITISH!

No First World Communist bums either!!! Gorby at least isn’t a bum, and was a legit friend of hers, so can stay to represent those she defeated. No Obama! Restrict the unrepentant commies, defeated British union thugs and and socialists to a protest area across town. I’d suggest BBC HQ as it would be convenient for many of them.

“Disrespectful towards the Thatcher family to invite Argos”

We called them “Argies” at the time.

As Commies go there are certainly ones worse that Gorbechev. After all,the Commies in Beijing fired on their own citizens when the chips were down whereas,in a similar situation,Gorbechev didn't.

Gorby did in Vilnius in 1991.

Not to the gauchos. As far as they are concerned, only their troops on the island surrendered and withdrew; the conflict continues.

My daddy is still fighting the WWII Japanese.

He’s actually quite fond of them as a people, but after three wars one would think he’s over the hatred caused by Pearl Harbor. That hostility I’ve encountered in old vets many, many times is shocking.

For the record...the Pacific war for him consisted of three days on Okinawa, after which he was hit by shrapnel. The battle was over before he returned to duty to finish out his THIRTY-FIVE YEARS in the Marines. Ahem.

Oh, he went on to duty in China, Korean and Viet Namese Wars.

NPR was grasping at straws yesterday to try to trash Thatcher. They created a segment that featured a British song unfavorable to her. Leave it to NPR to disguise their Communist agenda in a veil of “culchah.”
