Two key senators have reached a deal to expand background checks to firearms sales at gun shows and on the Internet, sources close to the negotiations said early Wednesday.

Sen. Pat Toomey, a conservative Pennsylvania Republican, plan to announce the deal Wednesday with West Virginia Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin, who holds an A rating from the National Rifle Association.

The two have been working on a compromise proposal that could draw Republican support for expanding background checks. On Tuesday evening, the two had an agreement in principle, and spent the night hammering out the final details.

Background checks that will suddenly be unavailable at the time of the show, shutting down sales and bankrupting the tour companies. Once they gone, no more problem. This is not a debate, it’s a declaration of war.

Sen. Pat Toomey, a conservative Pennsylvania Republican

Oh, please....

This guy stated his support for the homosexualization of the military before coming to office in 2011. And now he's making side deals with Satan's legions on gun control.

On CSPAN radio today they were saying the Reid bill will fail (lose some Dems too) and that the alternative Toomey deal bill excludes ALL private personal contact transactions.

This remains to be seen but a bill like that would give cover to defeat Reids bill.

Its been noticed as soon as McConnnell came out for filibuster a bunch of GOP Senators announced they wouldnt join it.

One member of Senate leadership, speaking on condition of anonymity so as not to violate personal confidences, said there's a sense among the top GOP lawmakers that such a public display could further damage the already-battered Republican brand.

The backstabbing "leadership" is damaging the Republican "Brand". Hey guys, This is not about branding, we do that to cattle. We are not cattle or sheeple. It is time to Stand. Either Stand and deliver or be replaced.

And rat-bastard Joe Munchkin, and his greek chorus in Leftist Big Media will continue to use that "A" rating from the NRA as a platform to excuse whatever unconstitutional anti-gun rubbish he pukes up.

Congratulations, NRA. You're giving cover to a domestic enemy of the Constitution. You're giving cover to gun control. You're giving cover to the further degradation of the Right of the People to Keep and Bear Arms.

See? I TOLD YOU SO!

Can someone explain to me why if they want to do a background check whether I should be able to buy a gun, why do they need to know the type of gun - let alone the serial number?!!? Is the check on me or the gun.......

AWR Hawkins said last week that Blumenthal will introduce ‘poison pills’ in order to kill the bills.

Any thing that passes the Senate will get watered down in the House.

The Democrats will blow this one.

Background chexks which will exclude anyone who ever took a sleeping pill. Background checks which will help to make it easy to find the legal gun owners in order to confiscate their weapons.

The left laughs us off-hahahaha!-everytime we say they’re sneaking up to total confiscation. But they keep on doing the things which will lead to it. Just like in other countries where the “citizens” have been disarmed. I can’t tell you how many times on an internet forum, someone from another country, even someone with mildly leftist/socialist views, has told me that they envy us our 2A. Especially EU countries where they’re losing their sovereignty to faceless bureaucrats in Brussels.

It's not a "check". It's a registration.

Yes, folks, the all-holy NRA gave an "A" rating and its endorsement to a rat-bastard DEMOCRAT who wants to register all your guns.

The article doesn’t say the NRA supports what Manchin is doing, it only says that Manchin has an A rating for his past positions on gun control. This article doesn’t say the NRA has sold us out (yet).

In recent days, Obama's gun control agenda has been imperiled on Capitol Hill.

What was not said was that our freedom is "imperiled." Of course freedom is an alien concept to the garbage who write this stuff.

“at gun shows and on the Internet, sources close to the negotiations said early Wednesday”

Gee, does that mean I can just go on Gun Broker today and buy a gun without going through a check? Must be because why would we need to include checks in a bill now if that was already the case?
