Don’t bet on tnat. They only need about 30 Republicans to vote with the 200 Democrats and it passes. Do you trust Boehner and Cantor? After Fiscal cliff and Sandy pork?

If it gets out of the Senate it WILL pass in the House . The Repubs are buckling. They don’t want to be written off the social guest lists in DC.

Reid doesn't even have all the senate rats on his side. We may see one of those I voted for it ( to end the debate) before I was against it ...in the actual vote.

Which is exactly what Reid’s boss, the clown in the White House, wants...

Yah, like cry baby Boner/Boehner is going to stop it. He's already stated that he will work with whatever bill the Senate sends to him. He's a coward & closet demoRAT! There would likely be 30 or so Repub House reps who would flip over as well, and voila, gun grabber bill is passed. Perhaps that is when the "shall not be infringed" part of the 2nd amendment will become a hard reality & choice to make.

The good news is that I still believe there are at least 12-14 southern & western states who will not bend or bow before the socialist feds, and who knows what will happen at that time.

Even so, there's still a massive psychological advantage to advancing a bill that far; each level of progress show some level of support, which can be drawn upon in future attempts to pass a similar bill. Even if a bill leaves a smaller committee, that can be claimed as a victory by the bill's sponsors, and they will capitalize on it. Look what happened with New York's same-sex "marriage" bill, which was re-introduced to increasingly higher levels of support each time.

Conversely, when a bill gets shot down at whatever level, there is less and less momentum available to restart another attack with a similar one. This is what we want.

“who cares if he has the votes

Don't be so sure. This whole Senate wavering of republicans has been - supposedly - orchestrated by McCain. He wants the Senate to pass anything to break the momentum of the TEA Party Senators like Paul, Cruz and Lee. McCain HATES the TEA Party and wants them gone. This is why this is coming to the floor now. The goal is to dump this on the House, and threaten Tammy Fay Boehner into caving lest he deal with with 24/7 news cycle of how the House republicans are “out of touch” with the “rest of the country on “guns”.

You think it won't pass the House? Let me remind you of the math. There are 200 Democrats in the House, and every single one of them will vote for the Senate bill - no matter what it is or what it does. There are 235 Republicans in the House. So all that's needed is for 18 House RINO’s to get wobbly, or be “persuaded” to go along to get along, and vote with the Democrats. They only need 18 to switch their vote. So we'll have the 2nd Amendment hanging on whether Tammy Faye Boehners soul is going to withstand the withering attack the Obama Media will do to him. You go right ahead and have faith Tammy Faye Boehner won't crack. I don't’ have such faith.
