Im moving forward to break the Republican filibuster. On Thurs, Senate will begin voting on background checks + other gun safety measures.
(Excerpt) Read more at twitter.com ...
Please vote to keep the full Bill Of Rights intact without further restrictions by voting against Gun Restriction bills in the Senate.
If you want to restrict the 2nd Amendment with further restrictions today, will you muzzle the 1st Amendment tomorrow with background checks, waiting periods, and other identical restrictions? Why not?
G-d gave us these rights. Not you. You have no right to take them. Defend the Constitution as written, as you are obligated by your oath of office. Do not destroy my G-d given rights.
They hate me at the Senate...
I expect black helicopters, ever day...
I don’t think Dingy has the votes.
Do you think he’s bluffing?
I think it’s close.
It’s going to come down to the red state Dems.
I considered that but pro-gunners make up a relatively small part of the overall electorate and it’ll be a non-Presidential election so turn-out will likely be low. You can bet your bottom dollar the media will do everything possible to demonize gun owners and generate the largest possible anti-gun vote (see Biden’s comments today - he’s given the media their go-ahead signal).
Another ‘mystery’ Bill? Where the F*CK is it?
I think Reid is full of bluster. IIRC, the Senate recently changed the rule so that a motion to proceed to a bill can't be blocked by objection. I think all Reid is saying is that he has 50 votes to proceed to the bill. That doesn't get him the 60 he needs to pass something, or prevent 40 from blocking, however you want to look at it.
You can bet that the simple majority vote to take up a gun control bill will be splashed in the media as a major Obama/Democrat success. Don't fall for it.
I don’t think it matters what the bill says. Like pregnant, you can’t be a little bit subject to your government. Any loss of any of your rights is the loss of all of them. This cannot stand.
I oppose all new laws.
We are out of control. Stop it now.

it wont pass the house.
Even so, there's still a massive psychological advantage to advancing a bill that far; each level of progress show some level of support, which can be drawn upon in future attempts to pass a similar bill. Even if a bill leaves a smaller committee, that can be claimed as a victory by the bill's sponsors, and they will capitalize on it. Look what happened with New York's same-sex "marriage" bill, which was re-introduced to increasingly higher levels of support each time.
Conversely, when a bill gets shot down at whatever level, there is less and less momentum available to restart another attack with a similar one. This is what we want.
I looked for “background” on http://thomas.loc.gov and got 61 hits, I suggest you go there and poke around.
National Review Online recently reported on something you didnt hear from the lame-stream media. When Rand Paul staged his now famous 13-hour filibuster the polls showed a 50-point shift in public opinion toward his position.
Senator Mike Lee commented: Once it became clear what the principle was that was being stood for, the public naturally followed.
When Paul staged his first filibuster... we didnt see it coming. We had no warning and we had no time to mount a campaign of support.
But now that we know what may be coming, we have no excuse not to make our voices heard and help make it happen.
