Don’t bet on tnat. They only need about 30 Republicans to vote with the 200 Democrats and it passes. Do you trust Boehner and Cantor? After Fiscal cliff and Sandy pork?

They thinks it is a win either way.

If it passes they win. If it doesn't pass they can use it against the Republicans in 2014.

From your linked story. So duh dumb Dems think Dusty Harry is going to go nuclear?

Harry Reid is threatening to kill the filibuster if the GOP doesn't cease using it to block the appointment of judges. (By the way, if you're interested in the filibuster reform discussion, follow Talking Points Memo's Sahil Kapur.) But this isn't the first time Democrats have threatened the nuclear option. Greg Sargent vents about their willingness to cry wolf:

Oh yeah if then...

crying Boehner better hold to his word.

Boehner - Filibuster rule change bills 'dead on arrival'

"House Speaker John Boehner, Ohio Republican, made it clear that any bill that came to the House from the upper chamber as a result of Senate Democrats changing the rules on the filibuster would be "dead on arrival." In a statement released from Speaker Boehner's office, the Ohio GOP'er remarked:

“Senate Democrats’ attempt to break Senate rules in order to change Senate rules is clearly designed to marginalize Senate Republicans and their constituents while greasing the skids for controversial partisan measures. I question the wisdom of this maneuver, especially at a time when cooperation on Capitol Hill is critical, and fully support Leader McConnell’s efforts to protect minority rights, which are an essential part of our constitutional tradition. Any bill that reaches a Republican-led House based on Senate Democrats’ heavy-handed power play would be dead on arrival.” "

-end snip-

If he breaks the filibuster (lesson guys, don’t tell anybody you’re going to filibuster), then have the whole bill and every amendment read out loud to ruin his schedule.

Go ahead Hairy, you will instantly make yourself and Obunghole a lame duck.

Nothing will pass after you do that, even the RINO’s will vote NO on everything. If you do pass anything with all RAT votes it will die in the House with all Repub votes.

Give it a try azzhole, see how ya make out.

It don’t see it passing the House. May not pass the Senate. Its just a matter of time though this country is going the way of Australia. Once enough older people die off it WILL pass.

I think they're far more interested in ginning up a campaign issue to re-take the House than they are in passing this bill. Once the House is theirs all bets are off.

Watching CNN yesterday they were bashing Republicans for not putting every agenda they have to a vote,
and claiming that they want the votes on file to use against the Republicans.

How ironic is it that Reid has been stalling every vote from the Congress since
Pelosi the Jackal was sent packing without her vibrating gavel, along with her syringe of botox.

I was kind of pessimistic when the regime announced conversion of OFA to work on the mid-terms.

But now I’m thinking the pro-2A fervor combined with the implosion of Obamacare will be huge factors in our favor.

Not sure they can use it against Republicans.

There are many Democrat gun owners that have a bellyfull of this gun grabbing horse dung too.

IMO it’s an issue that Republicans can use against Democrats, if they play their cards right. Of course that would be something new.

Yah, like cry baby Boner/Boehner is going to stop it. He's already stated that he will work with whatever bill the Senate sends to him. He's a coward & closet demoRAT! There would likely be 30 or so Repub House reps who would flip over as well, and voila, gun grabber bill is passed. Perhaps that is when the "shall not be infringed" part of the 2nd amendment will become a hard reality & choice to make.

The good news is that I still believe there are at least 12-14 southern & western states who will not bend or bow before the socialist feds, and who knows what will happen at that time.

Please vote to keep the full Bill Of Rights intact without further restrictions by voting against Gun Restriction bills in the Senate.

If you want to restrict the 2nd Amendment with further restrictions today, will you muzzle the 1st Amendment tomorrow with background checks, waiting periods, and other identical restrictions? Why not?

G-d gave us these rights. Not you. You have no right to take them. Defend the Constitution as written, as you are obligated by your oath of office. Do not destroy my G-d given rights.

I considered that but pro-gunners make up a relatively small part of the overall electorate and it’ll be a non-Presidential election so turn-out will likely be low. You can bet your bottom dollar the media will do everything possible to demonize gun owners and generate the largest possible anti-gun vote (see Biden’s comments today - he’s given the media their go-ahead signal).

If he has 60 who will vote to limit debate, then he cuts off the right to unlimited debate.

I think Reid is full of bluster. IIRC, the Senate recently changed the rule so that a motion to proceed to a bill can't be blocked by objection. I think all Reid is saying is that he has 50 votes to proceed to the bill. That doesn't get him the 60 he needs to pass something, or prevent 40 from blocking, however you want to look at it.

You can bet that the simple majority vote to take up a gun control bill will be splashed in the media as a major Obama/Democrat success. Don't fall for it.

I don’t think it matters what the bill says. Like pregnant, you can’t be a little bit subject to your government. Any loss of any of your rights is the loss of all of them. This cannot stand.
