Despite a long-standing ban on tourist trips to Cuba, Jay-Z and Beyonce were recently spotted on the island, sparking outrage for many Cuban-Americans and prompting a letter from two Florida Republican Congressmen to the Obama administration. NBC’s Kelly O’Donnell reports....

Anyone old enough to remember when the media would JOIN in the criticism when celebrities would travel to places where people were oppressed--like SOUTH AFRICA?!

I have heard some think this is no big deal....but it does carry some import. The law was apparently broken because these clowns have a lot of money....and they are basically supporting an oppressive government....

Who is above the law? Friends of the BO regime?

Maybe they’ll go and fall in love with the place... and STAY there! :)

They should have stayed in Cuba. I think they would be very happy there.

The Miami media, ever eager to air the grievances of the black community, basically is covering this story and rhetorically rolling their eyes.....

Of course, the hero of the media, OBAMA and his administration (the team that APPROVED this junket) are NEVER to blame.

Enough to make you sick.

Wow. Cuba gets Beyonce and JayZ while North Korea gets Dennis Rodman. If I was Kim Jong Un, I’d be insulted by that.

Why are these “entertainers” in the news? They are “newsworthy” because they traveled? Hell, they are tap dancers, possibly singers and their travels make the news?

Oh, so now it’s treasury?

Get a clue JayZ and Beyonce.

I wonder if they visited all the Afro-Cubans rotting in jails (many on hunger strikes and others with food being withheld), or the recently arrested Ladies in White?

The law needs to change. It is none of the government’s business if I (or Jay Z or Beyonce) travel to Cuba or for what reason so long as no harm is being committed.
