I will puke my guts up if zero’s there. I’ve managed to avoid looking at him for 5 years but I’ll be forced to watch him if he’s there.

Wish I could go......

Lady Thatcher was defeated as PM by her own party Tories, not Labour or the voters. She led, not followed!

Reagan's death produced not so much an outpouring of grief -- after all he was 93 -- but respect and love. There were spontaneous demonstrations everywhere his body went on its trip from California to DC and back to the library in Simi Valley.

So far we've had an anti-Thatcher riot and anti-Thatcher drinking bouts. The organized Left is trying to get its members to dial down their joy for the moment.

What I'm waiting to see is whether Thatcher's funeral produces the same kind of popular reaction that Reagan's did.

Great article. Thanks for the link. Here's an excerpt:

Lord Howard of Lympne, the former Tory leader, accepted that Lady Thatcher was had been a divisive figure. However, he insisted that she could not possibly “have done what needed to be done by consensus”.

“There was a need for bold decisions,” he said, adding that her dramatic economic reforms, including curbing the power of the trades unions and privatising utilities, had “saved our country”.
