To: All Freepers who own shares of publicly-traded companies.
Action: Vote your shares against the retention or re-election of Ernst & Young as auditors. This is easy and it takes very little time using proxyvote.com.
Background: James Turley, the CEO of Ernst & Young, a London-based international accounting firm, is on the National Executive Board of the Boy Scouts of America. In a statement issued by Ernst and Young, Turley said that he will work from within the Boy Scouts as a national board member to help change scouting policies so that they allow homosexuals to be scout leaders.
After the Boy Scouts made a two-year review of the matter, with a report made in July, 2012, the Scouts made no change in its policy of excluding homosexuals from positions of authority over boys. The eleven-member special committee of the Boy Scouts concluded that this policy is absolutely the best policy for the Boy Scouts. Upon this recommendation, most parents and Scout leaders believed the matter had been put to rest. Taking advantage of this letting down of their guard by Scout leaders, James Turley and another member of the Board, Randall Stephenson, made an ambush move to change the policy at the February, 2013 meeting of the National Executive Board. However, word of this attempt leaked out ahead of time, and due to the resulting outcry, action on the proposal was delayed for three months while the Scouts conducted a listening program of its members and stake-holders.
Effect: It will not be necessary for a majority of shares to vote against Ernst & Young to have an effect. A significant minority objecting will be noticed. The name of the game is confidence, and if a significant minority lose confidence in the independence, judgment, or integrity of Ernst & Young, then their usefulness as outside auditors is finished. If Ernst & Young loses a few accounts of publicly-traded companies on account of its ill-advised attempt to pervert and destroy the American Boy Scouts, the firm may abandon its attempt to corrupt the Boy Scouts. This is the kind of economic tactic that the left uses and as we all have seen, it is very effective.
Extra credit I: Go to this site and sign the petition demanding the Removal of James Turley and Randall Stephenson from National Executive Board of the Boy Scouts of America. (Note: the petition web site will ask you for a donation, but you don't have to make a donation to have your signature count. Just ignore the request.)
Extra credit II: If you own shares in a company or mutual fund which uses Ernst & Young as auditors, write a letter to the CEO and/or the Board members explaining that you have lost confidence in the judgment and integrity of Ernst & Young due to its its ill-advised attempt to pervert and destroy the American Boy Scouts.

Urge your company to drop the services of E&Y.... seems reasonable to me.
I thought a Board member has the ethical and fiduciary responsibility to support the organization they agreed to serve. He should be removed for breach of faith.
Indeed—Why put people on the Board who are hostile to the mission of Scouting?
How come they can’t be removed?
Along with the ATT idiot who is also on the BSA Board and is going along with Turley.
Check your proxies for the annual meeting this month. Stephenson is on the ballot for board membership. Ernst & Young is on the ballot for outside auditors. Stockholders of the world unite!
Thanks for the additional information about AT&T.
Studies show that young boys exposed to different lifestyles like them being alone with a homo(gay) man lovin adult-authority father figure all night in a tent can reduce the incidence of their homophobia as an adult.
Diversity: its all about LOVE. And Kill all those who disagree.

Whoa... Ernst & Young think it’s a good idea for the Boy Scouts to let homosexual Scout Leaders take little boys off into the woods?
Good grief.
It is not to give an opportunity to men to serve as leaders or, in the case of homosexuals, to give them access to fresh recruits.
I was a scout leader, as well as a scout, in a previous life and, if you think it is about you, as a leader, and not the boys, then you better get out and find another calling such as a bath house attendant.

did they sign the pro-homosexual amicus brief regarding DOMA?
