Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy compared the head of the National Rifle Association to “clowns at the circus” for his comments about the state’s new gun laws.
Mr. Malloy, a Democrat, signed legislation last week that requires background checks on all firearm purchases, bans magazines with more than 10 rounds of ammunition and adds more than 100 weapons to the state’s ban on semiautomatic rifles often called assault weapons.
NRA Chief Executive Officer Wayne LaPierre said the legislation only makes “the law books thicker for the law-abiding people.”
“The criminals, the drug dealers, the people that are going to do horror and terror, they aren’t going to cooperate,” Mr. LaPierre told Fox News.
Mr. Malloy said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” that the legislation is “probably a little tougher on everybody” and added about the NRA chief: “I mean, you know, Wayne reminds me of the clowns at the circus. They get the most attention, and that’s what he’s paid to do.”
The governor said the gun Adam Lanza used in the Newtown, Conn., school shooting in December was bought legally in the state despite its assault weapons ban. “There were loopholes in it that you could drive a truck through,” he said.
The NRA did not immediately comment on Mr. Malloy’s remarks.
Mr. Malloy offered more on Mr. LaPierre: “I mean, this guy is so out of whack. It’s unbelievable. Ninety-two percent of the American people want universal background checks. I can’t get on a plane as the governor of the state of Connecticut without somebody running a background check on me.”
“Why should you be able to buy a gun or buy, you know, armor-piercing munitions?”

This idiot needs to reread the constitution.
Better yet, he needs to retire and give over governing the state to someone who understands the history of the nation and of the American people.

Mallory is considered one of the top four Democrats for the 2016 Presidential election. If you are a Democrat in Maryland....you stand mostly proud of everything he’s done. Course, within the next year or two...it’ll be apparent that the more wealthy of state residents are leaving, and someone is going to be left holding the bag for tax revenue required to run the bloated state budget. That’s the problem with the current budget. Added to this...is the enlargement of casinos in Maryland, with a great dependence on Virginia residents traveling over and spending money at the operation.
Gov. Malloy is worse than a clown. He is a lying jackass political. He has signed into law an attack on our Constitutional rights that in NO WAY would have prevented the Newtown tragedy. He and others used the death of children at the hands of an insane person to push a political agenda.

Then they titled the survey as "Universal Background Checks."
They are completely different things.
