SEOUL — The North Korean army said Thursday it had final approval to launch "merciless" military strikes on the United States, involving the possible use of "cutting-edge" nuclear weapons.

In a statement published by the official KCNA news agency, the General Staff of the Korean People's Army (KPA) said it was formally informing Washington that reckless US threats would be "smashed by... cutting-edge smaller, lighter and diversified nuclear strike means".

"The merciless operation of (our) revolutionary armed forces in this regard has been finally examined and ratified," the statement said.

Some claim either he thinks his power is waning, or it actually is waning, but either way, failed dictators seldom go home and live happily ever after. So he may not be afraid to out with a bang. And i have no doubt they cost many lives. If they suddenly opened up on South Korea, and invaded them, we would have a ground war to deal with.

Especially troubling:

“North Korea’s ICBM does not have to be accurate to make an EMP attack against the United States.

The EMP field is so large that detonating anywhere over the U.S. would have catastrophic consequences. North Korea orbited its satellite around the Earth at an altitude of about 500 kilometers. The trajectory of North Korea’s satellite is no accident—they deliberately aimed for and achieved this orbit and altitude, as announced before their launch.

An altitude of 500 kilometers would be ideal for making an EMP attack that places the field over the entire lower 48 United States.

North Korea’s ICBM, delivering an EMP attack by means of an inaccurate satellite warhead, would likely miss its horizontal aimpoint over the geographic center of the U.S. by tens of kilometers. Bursting the warhead at an altitude of 500 kilometers would compensate for this inaccuracy by creating an EMP field big enough to cover everything. North Korea’s satellite did not pass over the United States—but a slight adjustment in its trajectory would have flown it over or near the U.S. bull’s eye for a high-altitude EMP burst.”

“smashed by... cutting-edge smaller, lighter and diversified nuclear strike means”.

Sounds like EMP to me.

I’d like to believe Resident Obama would do that, but I think he’d rather have them send a small nuke over and drop it on one of our cities. Instant martial law, then we all get the long knives while he’s got his crisis to justify his actions.

No worries...Bill Richardson is preparing to step up and save the day again.

"Some kind of special envoy"

“Something is needed to cool things down,” said Richardson, who is also a former Democratic presidential candidate. “I think there has to be an endgame to the administration’s policy, and the endgame in my view is diplomacy — some kind of special envoy, some kind of South Korean diplomat.”

A guy who was an advisor on President Clinton’s North Korea Commission says that North Korea probably has 2 and Iran probably has 2 super EMP’s already positioned in orbit ready to shoot at us through a huge hole in our south-facing radar. It’s a must-read. I’ll come back with a link.

The trouble is our radar has a big hole in it, and all the North Korean and Iranian launches have been designed to exploit that big hole.

Everybody needs to read the article at http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/publications/detail/understanding-north-korea-and-iran?f=must_reads#ixzz2MBnGqAqR to know what may be going on here.

The talk of small cutting-edge nukes fits exactly what this expert is saying. It also fits what Ahmadinejad has been smugly saying about the US going down within the next year or two.

We’re talking about a *super* EMP that would destroy not only the 60 million that the US government estimated within the first 6 months but 200 million. If the US military has equipment that is designed to survive this kind of attack, it would make sense that DHS is bringing in military equipment and buying body bags and caskets, and lots and lots of ammunition.

I’ve been fearing there would be a massive attack of some kind; didn’t know whether it would be financial, EMP, or biological WMD’s. Who knows, could be all of them. I was thinking of an Iranian EMP launched from Venezuela, but it sounds like neither Iran nor North Korea NEED a launch site any more, if I’m understanding correctly. There’s a small package in orbit somewhere, that could be activated and directed right at the middle of the US; the first any of us would know about it would be when the lights go out and no electronics work.

Somebody correct me if I’m not understanding this right.
