Offended by the decision of Starbucks chief Howard Schultz to support gay marriage, a Christian organization is seconding the CEO's demand that Christian shareholders sell their stock in the ubiquitous coffee chain.
"Christians and pro-family groups across the United States have contributed significantly to the economic success of Starbucks," said American Family Association President Tim Wildmon in a statement. "However, we can certainly honor Mr. Shultz's request to take our business elsewhere."

I have never bought this overpriced, overrated coffee and now never will. Not a day goes by that the media does not report on sodomite "marriage". It's the most important issue in the country. 2% of the population controls the agenda. To hell with the 98% of straight Americans who want to throw up when they hear this crap, and that includes hypocritical democrats who have jumped on the queer "marriage" bandwagon like good little liberals. It's called follow the leader. If their illustrious leader was for real marriage, they would be be also. Hypocritical, spineless morons.

I have had a few cups from Starbucks, not any recently however. It was always burnt and basically sucked. McD's coffee is far superior, and a lot cheaper as well.

I never go to Starbucks, always knew they were too liberal. So FReepers here’s a question for you. I got a $10 gift card from my employer this past Christmas, do I use it or not?

Not only is McDonald’s coffee consistently superior it’s easier to find.
But my love is Tim Horton’s.

Joe: Man, I could really go for a Starbucks, you know?
Frito: Yeah, well, I really don't think we have time for a hand job, Joe.

I got a $10 gift card from my employer this past Christmas, do I use it or not? They already have the $10, so the best thing you can do is take the "$10 worth" of coffee away from them.

It's the most important issue in the country.Yup, just like gun confiscation was last week, sequester was the week before etc back to Jan '09 when this ass-hat was sworn in. I hear ya, I'm fed up with "never let a crisis go to waste", secret agreements, omnibus bills and the politics of divide and distract. I just want to see bills brought up in congress, that are transparent, that are deliberated and where the people rather than well funded organizations get to debate and discuss then contact their reps pro or con. Enough of the 2700 page monstrosities shoe horned thru congress at midnight on Christmas Eve.
Oh yeah, and I'd like a supreme court that decides on the constitutionality of laws based on what the founders intended. Am I really asking for too much here?

Maybe they should change their name to Starbutts?

Regift it! Give it to a nice lib but don’t wait too long. I think Starbux is one of the outfits whose gift cards expire fairly quickly (6 months?) Check the back of the card lest it become a moot point

No person should sell their stock in Starbucks because of this. If you own stock in Starbucks, you didn't care about their social policy positions when you bought it, and they haven't changed them recently.
This person is just seeking publicity. He should go get his photo taken in front of Chik Fil A.

Unfortunately, my mom's "conservative" Southern Baptist Church handed out welcome packages to visitors with single-serve Starbucks packs inside.
It's not that conservatives lack the courage of their convictions; they are just stupidly uninformed.

Find the smelliest, dirtiest, most disgusting looking homeless person under the bridge. Give him the starbucks gift card. The best suggestion yet. They already have your money, might as well give them a fumigation as well.
