Former climate skeptic Bjorn Lomberg, who now believes climate change is man-made, nevertheless wants any action taken to reduce emissions to be intelligent and cost effective.
He points to Germany's subsidies for solar panels that are costing the government $110 billion but will delay global warming by on 37 hours.
From The Weekly Standard:
"The Germans are spending about $110 billion on subsidies for these solar panels," said Lomborg. "The net effect of all those investments will be to postpone global warming by 37 hours by the end of the century."
"All those billions, for 37 hours delay?," asked Stossel. "Yeah," said Lomborg, "so remember them in [the year] 2100 and say, 'Wow.'"
Stossel clarified, "You believe in global warming and man-made--"
"Global warming is real," said Lomborg, "and it is we need to fix. But we should fix it smartly, and not in a very, very costly way as we're doing it now. Germany is probably spending $660 for every ton of CO2 they're cutting."
Lomberg said in 2010, "Global warming is real - it is man-made and it is an important problem. But it is not the end of the world." He doesn't believe we should impoverish ourselves combatting a problem that isn't threatening the planet.

Suffice it to say that this is not the first time the Germans have made a monumental, strategic blunder.
An absolute IDIOT
Bjorn Lomborg is wrong. Global Warming is certainly not man-made, except to the extent that man-made adjustments to the observational temperature and carbon dioxide records have falsified the data and the statistical analyses of the erroneous data.
They would have to have some hefty scientific data, which they don't.
In other words his 37 hour claim is as ridiculous as their climate change claims.

He has never been a skeptic. He has always been a warmist. Why the left hates him so much is because he believes too much money is being wasted on trying to stop climate change and the money could be better used to make sure everyone has drinking water, etc.
So to delay global warming by a year, all they have to do is spend $25960000000000

Germany needs to stop their foolish efforts for slowing Global Warming and share abit with their neighbors in the Med....
Screw "sharing" with the reckless, irresponsible socialists - - give the money back to the German taxpayers.
It’s too bad we don’t have cogitator around to beat up after over a decade of climate model failure. He would probably blame Chinese pollution or La Nina or maybe just deny the failure altogether.
