Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) on Thursday joined a group of Republicans threatening to filibuster gun control legislation in the Senate.

“We, the undersigned, intend to oppose any legislation that would infringe on the American people’s constitutional right to bear arms, or on their ability to exercise this right without being subjected to government surveillance,” he wrote in a statement on his website.

...

Earlier this week, GOP Sens. Rand Paul (Ky.), Mike Lee (Utah), and Ted Cruz (Texas) wrote a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) pledging to “oppose the motion to proceed to any legislation that will serve as a vehicle for any additional gun restrictions.”

"he was allowed to join"

I'm not tracking. What does this mean? One would think that the pro-gun side needs every man jack it can get.

I don’t know. That doesn’t answer my question.

Rubio is not quick off the mark. Mark Levin always throws his name in with Paul, Cruz and Lee, but Marco seems totally reactionary. Like he wants to view perception before committing. Clearly not a leader but a follower, and the establishment has his number

Oh please. Gun control is never going to pass anyway. They always do the easiest thing. No filibuster on Immigration? Now that would be something worthwhile. These guys are pansies. Find something that is seriously going to pass and then filibuster. That would be worth praising.

Correction:

‘Gun safety laws for the babies and Gabby’.

the libs talking points is that if you oppose their law proposals then you hate kids. Heard the Dems calling in on CSPAN radio this morning.

Rubio stuck his finger in the air to see which way the wind was blowing, and decided to play act at being a 2nd amendment supporter. Just enough to throw a bone to conservatives & patriotic Americans, but not enough to make the GOP-e cause for any worry. He's still in favor of amnesty & open borders & most likely will soon come out in favor of homo/lesbian marriage.

I’m very leery of Rubio too. Seems like a total lightweight RINO to be to me.

Good.

This will certainly encourage other members of the GOP to become active participants in the defense of the Constitution.

This is a win-win for the GOP. Any member of the GOP who wishes to remain relevant, MUST actively support for this.

Where are Coburn and Inhofe?

He must have felt the political winds.

I’m glad he is joining the filibuster, but he is fraud through and through.
