Played a key role in converting bodybuilding from a physical fitness sport into a steroid-driven freak show.

"Survived by his wife". Of course! LOL!!
Great clip. Alan King was brilliant, a great performer who died too young and was... survived by his wife of 52 years. RIP, Mr. Weider.

Forget which body builder said it (Charles Atlas? Jack LaLane?) but body builders can’t die. It would be bad for their image.
Lived into his 90s is good enough for me to prove a point. But then, I don’t see the point of living into my 90s anyway. I’m happy to check out and be with the Lord at 60. Sooner, even, if He so wills.

but what could you do at 90?
Active living 90 vs. only the energy to beep beep a heart monitor while a veggie in bed?

Incidentally, that weight gain stuff he marketed, I bought barrels of it when I was 20. It had a time lapse of around 30 years but when it finally kicked in, it was very effective!

Yep, I probably jacked my own thread there, but Alan King was unforgettable. One of my favorite flicks is his “Just Tell Me What You Want.” Recommended to all!
