The comments about NYC on this forum are almost uniformly clueless - as if it were the mythical land of Mordor rather than a real place.
As usual I ask myself, “And what are we doing about this situation?”
So if you think “utter lack of pushback” is an odd way to see it, please encourage me by giving an example of pushback, other than grumbling, whining and keyboarding.

the fact that this little turd was reelected says it all. The fact that the sheep in NYC allow the government to make them jump through hoops, pay off the graft, tolerate the collar around their neck and are grateful that at least they are allowed to live without the ability to defend themselves, is so pathetic it's actually sad.
the problem for me is that the intelligentsia want that cr@p down here. They somehow think that "mass transit" will work in areas of the country with diffuse suburbs and no local or focal point of business. They think that everyone wants to suck off the government nipple and all the other crappy ideas that have destroyed every single city and state that the policies of the democrat party have governed.
I've had family shed blood for this country , but I made sure that my son never even considered joining the Marines to risk his life for the parasites and grifters that make up our federal government and are infused by the ideas like this little sh#t head Napoleonic punk.
I have actually come to the conclusion that if Texas was "kicked out" of the USA it would be just a great day all around.
