ALBANY -- As the legislature began the process of enacting a new state budget Sunday, its top Republican said Sunday they effectively will cancel a ban on the sale of gun and rifle magazines larger than seven rounds that was set to take effect April 15.
In doing so, Senate co-leader Dean Skelos (R-Rockville Centre) confirmed a plan lawmakers outlined last week.

No. The arrest was for the law as it stood before Cuomo's crap was passed. NYS already had a ban on large capacity magazines. He's awaiting trial.
There is the "Heller II" case. Court of Appeals, DC Circuit, decided near the end of 2011. The decision was appealed to SCOTUS, and SCOTUS denied cert.
We conclude the District has carried its burden of showing a substantial relationship between the prohibition of both semi-automatic rifles and magazines holding more than ten rounds and the objectives of protecting police officers and controlling crime. Accordingly, the bans do not violate the plaintiffs' constitutional right to keep and bear arms.
