Hundreds of thousands of people have gathered in central Paris for a final mass protest against a bill to legalise same-sex marriage and adoption.
Demonstrators gathered along a major street up to the Arc de Triomphe.
There were scuffles and police fired tear gas as the protest spilled over onto the Champs Elysees, the avenue which runs past the president's palace.
France's Senate is due to debate the bill next month after it was passed by the lower house of parliament.
President Francois Hollande's Socialist Party and its allies dominate both houses.
Opinion polls suggest a majority of French people still support gay marriage but their numbers have fallen in recent weeks.
Banners unfurled along the march route included "Hands off my filiation" and "We want work, not gay marriage".

Tens of thousands opposed to French legislation allowing gay marriage.
Bravo, France.
You are ahead of us.
The American papers and news programs will say ten rednecks showed up with a noose in a monster truck to protest gay marriage.
(What’s a French redneck called?)
But will the French government get the message and react accordingly?
I felt embarrassed to be part French. Now I see the French people I must be descended from.
This in sexually liberal France...?
And yet we’re told to give up protecting traditional marriage in America?
Personally, I think that if congress and the president actually set out to nationalize homosexual “marriage, you will see a damn break.
States that are able to vote on this issue 90+% turn it down, which is why some states just ‘make it so’ by action.
The anti-second amendment and pro-homosexual people in control now have now begun to over step and push to hard (no giggling)....
it is not going to be pretty.
This is impressive.
It is and it WILL happen here, now matter what the MSM and obama et al say.
The “We the People” are ready to boil over.......
I’m tired of the pro gay bs. The time to be nice and coexist with the left on this issue and others is over and the political class both GOP and DNC can go to hell. Here is some of the stuff that has been going on in France.
Indeed. Where are the American — one man, one woman — protesters, IN THE STREETS?
Our press are treating them the same as the TEA Party when it had a large crowd in DC...crickets.
Why is their signage all in English?
>> Im tired of the pro gay bs.
Homosexuality is not about love, but about sodomy.
Why should we celebrate accepting the undesirable?
Its probably for international news consumption.

I realize I've pinged at least one article about this (and may do another) but take a look at the photo. People need to start FIGHTING BACK against the onslaught of evil. And there are plenty of evils to choose from.
ANone wanting on/off either ping list, FREEPMAIL me.
French have more balls than many on our side, hey Hannity, Rove, etc take note.
If they think many of us around here will just accept this then they are mistaken.
Sadly many on our side can;t even post about this issue or have no problem with an agenda which the communists were pushing for decades and if anyone thinks this is about marriage then they had better wake up
Seems ironic but it isn't. A society can be sexually libertine by winking at sexual immorality as avante garde but still recoil at the thought of normalizing it as gay marriage would normalize homosexuality. It is a delicate balance that I think the French have historically understood and accepted, but now the balance had been disrupted by the homosexual agenda, and many of the French are pissed, as well they should be.
