The Queen was asked for consent on a range of bills, including those affecting her estates. There is growing concern in parliament at a lack of transparency over the royals role in lawmaking. Photograph: Sergeant Dan Harmer |

The internal Whitehall pamphlet [...] shows ministers and civil servants are obliged to consult the Queen and Prince Charles in greater detail and over more areas of legislation than was previously understood.
The new laws that were required to receive the seal of approval from the Queen or Prince Charles cover issues from higher education and paternity pay to identity cards and child maintenance.

It is heartening to see royalty doing their duty in Britain.

I concur with that. The people whining about this being ‘undemocratic’ need to understand the importance of a non-democratic body in revising legislation introduced by those with a vested interest in doing something for short term electoral gain rather than the long-term interests of the country.
Good, Very Good.
At Least Someone gives a damn about the health of the nation. Mind Blowing that it would be the Monarch/sarc
Big Thank you for the Ping!
Hopefully more nations will follow this sensible course.
P.S. Any word on the Serbian Restoration?
Please ping me on Monarchy posts. Thank you.

I follow some Russian conservative bloggers, as you know, but I have not come across anything of note.
I do not have a monarchy ping list, nor any other list. I will make one from those appearing on this thread, but I am not used to a permanent ping list, so forgive me if I neglect you in the future.
The usual interpretation is that the Queen or King may dissolve the parliament, and, of course, their property is not subject to regulation even if the rest of the country is. Probably lost in all this Cyprus and Greek bank talk.
If Serbia returned to Monarchy though I can Guarantee you their finances would improve, because the E.U. could be told to shove it! and the people would have already spoken through the Sovereign.
Thank you for the update though! and Thank you again for the Monarchy Ping!
I will also endeavor to keep La Lydia close when it comes to Monarchy Ping, there isn’t very many so she should be easy to remember! :)
There was a monarchist circle on FR long time ago, but I even forgot the names.
Monarchism, anyone?
Yes! I will take it!
Viva il Re!
