Watson was probably mistaken for a whale and harpooned.

Paul Watson is an idiot. ..and will end up getting people killed.
Japan should protect it's fleet however it feels best!

Watson said he was unlikely to return to the United States because American authorities would likely turn him over to Japan. Good...I wonder if the three ships will be quarantined if they return to Friday Harbor on San Juan Island, WA.
That would be sweet.

Last September, Interpol published a Red Notice, or international wanted persons alert, for Watson, 62, at the request of Japanese authorities. He is sought for prosecution by Japan on charges of Breaking into the Vessel, Damage to Property, Forcible Obstruction of Business, and Injury in relation to two incidents that took place on the Antarctic Ocean in February 2010 against a Japanese whaling ship.
Closer to home, a three-judge panel of the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals last month ordered Sea Shepherd, the organization Watson founded, to stop harassing Japanese whaling ships.

They’re the equivalent to pirates/terrorists and should be dealt with accordingly.
