Like I said we are broke. We do not have the resources to track down 12 million illegals who are all underground.
This is one reason why attrition thru enforcement is the best solution. The idea is to make this country as unwelcoming to illegal aliens as possible. Shut off the job magnet, cut off social benefits, no in-state tuition for illegals, deport any illegal picked up by law enforcement, etc.
When I received my Green Card I had to register my address EVERY YEAR to keep my visa legal.
We have over 2 million criminal aliens. They are not going to register nor will millions more who don't trust the government or don't want to legalized. Once you are legalized, employers must adhere to things like the minimum wage. You are less competitive as a legal worker.
Green cards or legalization entitles you to social welfare and entitlement benefits. The Heritage Foundation concluded that the cost of amnesty would be $2.6 trillion just for increased entitlement program costs. And this doesn't include Obamacare. And the number of additional LEGAL immigrants who would join those who were the recipients of amnesty through chain migration, i.e., family reunification, would approach 70 million over a 20-year period, assuming there are only 12 million illegal aliens. We cannot assimilate such numbers. An amnesty would destroy the United States of America with the stroke of a pen.

Exactly how do you propose to get Obama and his justice department chief Holder to do that? Stop hallucinating and face reality. They are not going to do it, EVER!!!!

The only purpose why Rand Paul is proposing his proposal is to mollify the Hispanic voters. May be...just may be that will reduce the 70%:30% ratio down a couple of points. Rand absolves the forced deportation but offers zero on the time schedule how fast the illegals can acquire citizenship. Read my previous posts again and I have explained it all.
I will bet you never went through the process of immigration. You never dealt with ICE or INS as it was called during my days. I have first hand experience on how the whole process works since I arrived on a student visa. I finished my degree, found a job in my field, and my employer sponsored me for the Green card.
On the point of 2 million criminal illegals you claim to have, simple 2nd grade math will tell you 2 million is easier to deal with than 12 to 30 million illegals. Even better is the fact that when an illegal is given a work visa, their background will be checked. And they will be given a “Yellow” card called work visa. The criminal illegals won’t have that yellow card and they will be much easier to segregate.
No system is going to be perfect. But please get off your dream horse expecting “current laws to be enforced”. What the heck do you think Obama/Holder did to Arizona when that state tried to duplicate federal laws and enforce them? They sued the state of Arizona!
