"March 19, 2013 – PLANET – The planet is currently reeling from a dense spectrum of moderate to light tremors, which have struck along major tectonic plate boundaries over the last 18 hours. As a precursor to this seismic dynamism; we have seen elevated activity at many of the world’s volcanoes, including hotspots in Hawaii, Etna, and the Canary Islands. The latest spat of seismic activity across the globe has every indication of being a precursor to a major seismic stress release, which I have forecasted since last week. This event could be hours, or even days away. The window of elevated hazard risk, at present, extends through March 23, and is annunciated by the spring equinox. –TEP"

As I recall, it did it before and there is evidence in the Bahamas and Florida.

Well that's kind of interesting.
Don't know if you heard about it, but there was a slight quake felt in the Port Fourchon area last week (Southern tip of Lafourche parish by the gulf).
Odd area to have a quake.

It is an odd area to have a quake alright, and this is the first I've heard of it. Thanks for letting me know.

Interesting...

I have seen where Jindal is trying to get the owners to pony up funding to help displaced residents living around the sinkhole area.

It pretty much depends on how deep the company's pockets are, and the amount of insurance they have, I guess.

Maybe Jindal can help shake some of that loose though, let's hope.

- Another reactivation of the process at 22:10 UTC followed by the most powerful earthquake since the beginning of the current crisis. The IGN list is however not reachable at this moment. EMSC reports that this earthquake had a Magnitude of 3.8 at a depth of 18 km. It was of course felt by the people on the island. The epicenter of this earthquake was below the western part of the island.
- Such strong earthquakes now and then are very normal for the current process. This means that the magma still looks for a way to go higher. The theory that this crisis was almost over (as mentioned by some scientists) may have to be revised. Similar strength earthquakes are a possibility for the coming hours and days. The still extending deformation is another sign that it is not yet over.
- The oceanographic vessel Ramon Margalef is currently at Tenerife and will shortly cruise to the El Hierro waters with scientists aboard. This was planned before (3 missions) and has nothing to do with the current crisis. All the current activity is still deep below the island.
