But the real genius of Schumer’s bill is the permanence of its effects: Once you’ve proven yourself the sort of monster who might teach your neighbors’ children to shoot targets in the garden, you’re a felon, and you can’t own firearms without the explicit permission of the state.

The US government has become the biggest threat to freedom for the nation, period. All other dwarf in comparison to what is going on these past 15 years. This threat is insidious, all past threats from the Brits to the commies were in the open. This bunch has constructed stage scenery to camouflage their intent so that the uninformed have not a clue what is going on right before their eyes.

It’s no surprise Schumer would come up with this. Everything that Nappy headed idiot does is absurd.

Only the totally brain dead cannot see that our government and crapheads like Schumer are determined to turn us all into slaves of the Government.

This is tyranny in our lifetime.

They seem to be begging for a Civil War.The only thing stopping it now is the borrowed money Oama keeps passing out. When the economy goes down the tubes—and it will— it’s Katie bar the door. They know it that is why they are trying to disarm us while arming the Government.

Americans’ right to keep and bear arms without excessive government interference.

What about books.. as was brought up the other day during a senate hearing.

How are laws affecting the right to keep and bear arms any different than laws affecting books vis-a-vis the respective Amendments?

What happens when..

Not a book ban, says Senator. No threat to the First Amendment. Books are not outlawed. People will not be required to turn in all their books. There will not be total book confiscation.

Senator Feinstein's insult-bindings ban makes illegal books that have bindings that disturb public tranquility by insulting or threatening segments of society or society in general. Though the contents of the book may be like thousands of others the appearance of the book makes the book illegal.

...There are good-faith arguments in favor of and against this provision....

NO, there aren't. Schumer's proposed legislation is just a placeholder in that long trek to full registration and confiscation.

His 'sensible' proposals are supposedly merely to make us safe, at least on the surface. The real purpose is to eventually disarm the American citizen who isn't one of his DHS goons, or Holder's people, or some illegal Mexican or common ghetto thug.

I am not going to 'background check' anything, I'm not going to 'register' anything, and I damned sure won't be turning anything. Whatever I have or had or will have was sold to some punk at a gun show, coincidentally before his legislation would kick in, and no, I didn't do a background check, etc. why would I care about that? It was one of 'his' people....

Enemy action ping.

Let's see if FR has its sear fixed yet, or if we get the unwanted 'three-round burst'.

The electorate of NY vote for those who publicly state their anti-gun positions. When they follow they get all cranky. I think the voters of NY are pretty stupid! You can’t have socialism/communism and your freedoms too. You’re going to have to chose one or the other. I suspect this hasn’t yet (and maybe never will) dawned on them...
