No sir, I knew that was sarcasm, but I LOVED the way he put her on the defensive from the start. I hope the GOPe doesn’t mess with him. We need more like him defending the Constitution.

Durbin said in the video that went with the article “None of these rights are absolute.”
I disagree with him. Some of the rights are based on juries, judges, and decisions. I understand that, and that would make them less than absolute.
However, one must raise the question: “When is it inappropriate to defend your life or the lives of your loved ones?”
More to the point: “Is it inappropriate to defend your life when the government is coming wrongfully to deprive you of your life?”
Last week was about drones and killing American citizens. Obama says he can do it if he deems you a threat.
Let’s say the government decides you qualify for a drone and you think they’re wrong. Can you strike first or strike back?
I say it’s based on the right to life that I’m permitted by God to strike back...and even to preemptively strike if there’s absolute certainty that one is being illegally targeted.

Yes maam, we can all clearly see that you are indeed not a sixth grader. However, that’s okay because the Second Amendment of the Constitution reads today just like it did way back then. Of course, the ink was much less faded and the paper not as yellowed I am sure...

I am certain that the answer to both this, and the “child porn” argument are the same. These rights are absolute, in that the government has no authority to abridge them in any case, other than to prevent the direct violation of some other citizen’s rights. My possession of arms does not violate anyone elses rights in any way, and is therefore not a legitimate government concern. Child pornography obviously does violate another person’s rights, and is legitimately forbidden.

I had the pleasure of seeing this on Maddow tonight and then seeing Mad-cow's ’outraged’ reaction to Cruz.
In it Cruz asks Feinstein (DIFI) a question on her views on specific Amendments of the constitution (Gun control related question) and then DIFI goes in to a hissy fit ranting about all her experience and how Cruz shouldn’t patronize her.
Cruz is absolutely a classic,
He sits there watching her rant just with a touch of a smile not batting an eye or flinching at all while she rants and raves and then he finally replies :
“ None of us doubt your passion on this issue (Translation ‘you sound like a drama queen’) but the please note that the Senator from CA still didn’t answer my question” at which point Sen Bow-wow starts barking again.
Then I saw (not on clip at link) Maddow rants on about how Cruz shows himself as a winnin hater (my paraphrase) who looks down on them,
Cruz grew on me very fast in office, and that is saying a lot. Bomb throwers (throwing at Dems) on the GOP(conservative) side are a dime a dozen but few so smart and self controlled Cruz and esp as a Senator. Now Cruz IS a definite headache for Dems, as libs admitted on This Week In Washington. He is a lethal weapon.

The porn absolutely requires the abuse of children and is an obvious infringement of their rights. The producer's right to free speech is trumped by the rights of the children.
The proper ownership of any firearm, on its own, does not infringe on anyone’s rights. Even withdrawn a properly stored “bazooka”.
Yes, a firearm CAN be used to infringe on someone’s right. But so can a knife, a nailgun, gasoline, rope, kitchen chemicals, etc, etc, etc. The largest mass murder in modern history by an individual was committed with 1 gallon of gasoline!
This is so refreshing to see, refreshing indeed.
But the good Senator is only one man. Make no mistake - he’ll need the agressive backing of every GOP Congressperson and Senator, talk radio folks, and the electorate.
I smell victory for We the People and the Constitution.
