Good for you. Sounds like you are treating your brain well, as opposed to many of the low information viewers in our country.
Yeah, only 10. You’ve got to start somewhere and picking the most egregious and making an example of them might encourage better behavior on the part of the others.
It’s the same wisdom academicians are using in our boycott of Elsevier — really all commercial academic publishers should have their content dried up by professors refusing to sign over rights to papers so that commercial publishers can collect monopoly rents by selling them back to their employers, but we picked the one with the worst behavior to deal with.
It’s the same wisdom Batt Masterson used when a bunch of Texas cowboys refused check their guns in a saloon in Abilene, KS: he didn’t fight the lot of them, just laid out the biggest, meanest looking Texan with one punch and asked the others to check their guns. They did.
Deal with the worst as an example to the others.
MRS O BOMBED IN HOLLYWOOD Hollywood came down hard on Mrs O's scary Oscar visibility. She was roundly criticized from the left and the right. Those in the seats say Hollywood heaved a collective groan when she appeared via satellite above Jack Nicholson's egotistical head (betcha he didnt like that TV shot).
Even worse, post-Oscar reports did not photo her or her dress. Even though another star wore a dress by the same designer---no mention was made of Mrs O's lavish gown.

DEMOCRATS LIKE DONNY DEUTSCH WEIGHED IN: "As far as I'm concerned, she was an uninvited guest. Now what I mean by that is (as an advert guru), you have to give the consumer, the viewer, the ultimate respect. They tuned in to watch movie stars, to watch movies. And all of a sudden, politics is thrown at them."
"If I want to watch her on Jimmy Fallon, that's okay. But, (the Awards)---that was an intrusion, and I have a feeling that three out of four Americans -- Democrat or Republican -- don't want to see the First Lady (there). I think you have to respect your audience enough to not impose her, that's not a moment we're looking for there---the President or the First Lady," Deutsch said on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight."
DONNY CONTINUED: "....the tone of it, it was almost a monarch quality.....an elitist flavor to it. I was watching and going, 'huh?' and I'm a Democrat," Deutsch told host Piers Morgan. "I just thought it was very very tone deaf and I was really surprised they did it," Deutsch concluded.
No, just your run of the mill racist, but who are we to complain?
Downton Abby is the first and only tv show I have made a point of not missing if possible, in many decades. The writers have the knack of getting across what is happening without blatantly throwing it in your face, the intrigue and mystery is there. I found it by accident this year.
They tell the world we’re awful people and then we turn right around and put money in their pockets and help them become bigger stars.

Not this gal. I will not put money in their pockets, and it bothers me that other FReepers do.
Unfortunately, I have family members who also hate the political statements that these mental midgets make but will then turn around and go to their movies.
Jamie Foxx plays the villian ‘Electro’ in the next ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ movie...I’ll pass. This is yet another ‘color change’ for a comic character...’Perry White’ will be portrayed by Laurence Fishburne in the new Superman flick...wonder when we will get a white actor to portray a black character from the comics...Blade or Luke Cage, for instance. Just imagine the outrage from the left...
Boycott is one of our best tools, and we need to use it frequently.

You are right. And there are a lot more of us than there are of them.
You don't have to imagine....just ask Ted Danson and Whoopi Goldberg wrote his jokes.
Hope you have seen all three seasons. That’s a must!
Brilliant casting, writing and acting...
Movie theaters are not fun experiences today. Rude people sit next to you who talk endlessly through the previews, then you have to listen to some idiot crinkle his candy wrappers or loudly much popcorn that isn’t even good anymore.
There are tons of germs, dirty floors and it’s way overpriced. At my theater, you now have to pick your seats ahead of time which makes standing in line(behind low information viewers)seem endless.
Used to be memmorable to escape into the experience and get lost in the dark drama of a classic like Ben Hur that made you forget where you were! Now after the credits appear, if you haven’t fallen asleep several times(Lincoln), you walk out and think WTH did I waste my time and money on?
I love the British mysteries and now stream them on my computer...ala Amazon Prime and Netflix.
No, I’m talking about Morgan. I won’t watch those cheesy documentaries if he is narrating them.
Might be the only time I would ever consider buying a series on DVD if it is offered.
I know a lot of FReepers have been dissing this series, but I have watched the first 2 (of 5) installments and speaking as one who is very familiar with the Scriptural passages that have been featured so far, I am reasonably pleased with the quality of the work product.
While there are scholarly improvements I could make, as I am sure others could also, I think these are 2 Hollywood producers who have remained true to their faith and approach their work with a reverence for Christ.
The details of this may be found in the linked article.
There were not to be found even 10 righteous individuals in Sodom even as it is likely there are painfully few in Hollywood who are upright persons, but Burnett and Downey should applauded for building on their success in other areas of entertainment to uplift the Christian message and communicate their faith in "The Bible" series, breaking through the bilge that typically characterizes the work product of Hollywood.
FReegards!
