I wouldn't consider them bluffing this time. They are taking things much more seriously right now, and think we are trying to topple their government. (Which, we probably are) If they feel these excercises are an existential threat, we can't just think this is bluffing.

I took part in four annual Team Spirit exercises even though I was only there two years (lucky, I guess) and they b*tched and moaned with every one. Team Spirit was much bigger than anything they do now. Unless this is that new kid running the show and he is even more paranoid than his father and grandfather.

It looks like the Gr/Japan thing again. Tubby wants some ass kissing by a perceived weak leader. He has a bomb and has given the nut jobs the bomb one way or the other. He thinks we are involved with too much now. Then there's that gun that wounds rather than kills like the M-14.
