Greenland may be increasingly willing to play off rival powers from Brussels to Beijing that are drawn by its minerals as global warming opens up sea routes and mining prospects...

I would be surprised if there isn't a great deal of untapped mineral wealth there, but if they are counting on Global Warming to open up access, they may have to wait a while...

The key development will be PORT FACILITIES. If history is a good guide the Europeans will attempt to shift the costs off on the locals. The Chinese will be happy to build such facilities with exclusive access agreements.

The unfortunate cold, hard facts of life are that the Americans will want to protect the Arctic sharks first.
