Saw that there were a bunch of NEA union activists arrested for trying to block the hearings.

Ping.
There’s a list of the 23 schools in the story.
Heard on the radio that this will save them about $30Million, but they had to borrow $300Million to balance the budget? And the Union - that helped put the schools in the red - are complaining?
Schadenfreude indeed!!

Shut down all of the schools in Philadelphia. All they do is graduate generation after generation of illiterates.
If Philadelphians used their own money to pay for their schools, that would be ok. But as it stands now, they receive a bulk of their revenue from state and federal funds.
The ONLY way to change city schools is to make people in the cities to pay for their children's education and stop treating it like some kind of entitlement. When they start paying for it, they might actually become educated.

I think we are learning that we can’t teach all. Let’s pull back, regroup, teach those that want to learn, those that are capable of learning. The world needs ditch diggers too as they say.

The real reason why they have to shut down the schools is because future students were aborted.
The rest of the students who would have made some sort of difference in the enrollment are living either in the suburbs or have moved out of state.
