Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), filibustering John Brennan's nomination to lead the CIA on Wednesday in objection to the Obama administration's policy on targeted drone killing, ceded that President Obama personally was not the issue.

"I frankly don't think he'll be killing people in their homes tonight," Paul said.

At stake, Paul explained, was the prospect of unchecked power afforded to the executive branch if clear rules governing lethal force within the United States are not established.

Clever wording by Paul. He’s putting the concept out there before Americans who might never have considered it, and doing it in a way that guarantees a lot of media outlets will pick it up and repeat it as “proof” that Obama is a good guy...”even the right-wing Tea Partiers think so!”

Paul is being diplomatic. No single person in government, especially in these United States, should be allowed to determine the life or death of a citizen of the United States. This filibuster is historic, and instructive to the weasels in the Senate (if they bothered to pay attention).
