Gov. Steve Beshear said Tuesday he has now talked with actress Ashley Judd about how seriously shes considering running for U.S. Senate in 2014 against Republican U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell.
While Beshear would not go into detail on the conversation, he did say that he is convinced that Judd is seriously considering a race for United States Senate in the Democratic primary.
Beshear told reporters Tuesday at a bill signing that he thinks Judd could be an effective and formidable opponent against McConnell in a general election. Beshear has a good idea of what that takes having lost by double-digit points to McConnell in 1996.
Beshear said it is still early in the decision making process, but said a number of other Democrats are thinking about running. Heres the raw video of what he said:

Just what America needs. Another ditzy DemocRAT celebrity in the District of Corruption. Great. I guess this means that she hasn’t been getting many movie offers lately.
Another nut job
Ashley’s “story” (for those who haven’t seen it)

but she should go for it....we'll see how the good people of Tenn respond.....I think not well....the Nashville elite be damned....
Movieland is a place where some are paid fabulous sums to pretend to be regular people - then they wait to be lauded for their exceptional skill at make-believe. Apparently Judd has concluded that her exceptional skill at make-believe translates to something useful outside of Hollywood. She may believe in her own electability based on the fact that the current occupant of the White House was the least qualified candidate in ten generations and he managed to fool the willingly hoodwinkable.
She’s not running in TN. She knows she couldn’t get elected. She thinks she can dupe the suckers in KY.
How about having a truly decent conservative candidate that can defeat all of the leftist candidates from both major political parties?
Well, she is excellent at showing off her tits. Her one and only asset.
I wonder if the press will make as big a deal out of that as they did Scott Brown’s centerfold... ((((crickets))))
“Ashley Judd” and serious are three words not used in the same sentance.
Am I the only one who finds this trend of one person talking to another supposedly “in confidence” about running for public office, only to have said conversation “leaked” in order to judge just how far that balloon will float, extremely annoying?
Our petty putative president strikes again.
They elected Rand Paul. We need more suckers like that everywhere.
You mean that Wildcat degree in French and her litany of boyfriend?s doesn't qualify her as the perfect leftard candidate
Hey, she’d make an excellent candidate... for California. I think KY Democrats are going to rue letting her run. She’s about as elite and out-of-touch as they come (and anti-coal, which will really go over well in those formerly reliable Dem counties in the eastern part of the state).
“You mean that Wildcat degree in French and her litany of boyfriend?s doesn’t qualify her as the perfect leftard candidate “
I don’t think “litany of boyfriends fits.” While she is in the process of getting a divorce from Dario Franchitti, they were married for eleven years. And I know for a fact that she has been attending Harvard getting a degree in Political Science. All that not withstanding, I don’t think she will play well in Kentucky since she will be a carpetbagger.
“They elected Rand Paul. We need more suckers like that everywhere.”
The GOP’s problem is that McConnell is problematic as a leader. If he had a solid record, this would not be a problem. Would like to hear from any Freepers from Kentucky as to how they he is viewed by his constituents. Personally, I have always felt that he was just another “Boner.”
