Looks like Boehner needs some spine stiffening again. You would think he could learn to say something in favor of the Constitution, now and then, like "any form of registration will be dead on arrival" or other non-controversial statement.

Non-answers that cater to inside the beltway types such as "the House will consider it" do not cut it.

And Bonehead just put into words exactly why I have left the Republican Party. What part of infringed do these people not understand????????

I guess the Republicans will do fine without me since they seem to want to push me away from them. Don’t come asking for my vote in the future.

Needs a spine? Are you sure that Boehner is not a mole for the Democrats?

We do not have a "violent" society. We have an "impolite" society. Impoliteness leads to violence. Time for America to become a polite society again.

Boner is the absolute wrong Weeper of the House. He does not know how to negotiate with the opposition party or the clown in the White Hut and he most certainly does not know how to control and message the GOP message. I had high hopes that the promised challenge from Michele Bachmann would have materialized, but I see they got her back on the reservation.

I am fully believing that Boehner will be a man before his mother, how that happens is up for debate.

Now if we can just graph him in to our species we can despise him for more reasons.

Hey Boehner. How about considering a bill which would PROHIBIT DHS from purchasing almost 3,000 friggin' tanks! (on top of their billion bullets?)

This is the new strategy for 2013, and frankly it is better than whatever they did the past two years. The House stuck their neck out with good legislation and good budgets...none of which sees the light of day in the Senate. The result...the House got blamed. Now, the House leadership basically is saying ‘the Senate can act, and we’ll talk about it when they produce legislation’. The onus is getting the Senate to take the bullets...and particularly the Democrats from red states to have either buck their party of buck their voters in a vote like this.

I am comfortable with this, because I doubt anything substantial will get through the Senate legislatively on gun control, and if it does, our side can still vote it down. We’ll see.

"You know, we've got a violent society"

No, you idiot Boner... 99 percent of the population is NOT violent... lets look at who IS AND ISOLATE THEM.

Let's see which groups commit the most felonies, murders, rapes, theft? (HINT: They mostly voted for Obama)

Feh, I don't see it as all bad.

It will force Dems in red or rural areas to make a stand.

I’ve got a good friend in OH-8 that could probably successfully primary this guy.

I think I’ll make some calls today.

He’s trying to force the Senate to go on the record.

"Looks like Boehner needs some spine stiffening again."

Not at all, in my opinion. He didn't say that the House would initiate any gun measures; he said it would consider any senate generated gun measures. When you have an effective strategy, you execute it, you don't announce it.

we all have to accept that Obama is President, and Harry Reid is Senate Majority leader. We just have to deal with it. So far, the recent "no new laws in the House of Representative" strategy is working. The Republican House needs to continue to talk nice and offer to compromise, but PASS NO NEW LEGLISATION.

Obama is incapable of leading, and Reid can't pass any meaningful legislation without Presidential leadership. Simply let them churn. Nothing will happen, and nothing happening is good.

He said the House would look...he didn’t say they’d pass anything. He’s been criticizing Reid and the Senate for failing to act on a budget or any other significant busines for 2 years now. He can’t be the House version of Harry Reid. He’ll let it come up...it won’t pass.

In my own little town tonight we are fighting to keep the 2nd A fresh in our minds.

http://therockwallnews.com/2013/0220/government/mayor-pro-tem-white-accuses-council-member-smith-of-grandstanding-for-the-media

Sent to my council critters via my local Tea Party leaders.

Davidsweet@rockwall.com davidwhite@rockwall.com Jimpruitt@rockwall.com Benniedaniels@rockwall.com Dennislewis@rockwall.com michellesmith@rockwall.com miketownsend@rockwall.com

Dear Councilman:

After reading about the events at the Feb. 18 council meeting I wanted to contact all council members and express my support for the resolution to reaffirm our 2nd amendment in the city of Rockwall.

Our constitutional rights, specifically our 2nd amendment rights, are being threatened by our federal government. As a citizen of Rockwall I want to see our elected officials show a prepared response to these threats.

It is the business of the city council to protect the safety and the rights of Rockwall citizens. I ask you to vote "yes" for this proposal on March 4.

Thank you,

At last Monday's Rockwall City Council meeting a resolution was proposed to affirm support of our constitution, specifically the 2nd amendment. Michelle Smith proposed it. David White angrily opposed it. I'm not sure how the other councilmen stand on it. The proposal was tabled for the next meeting. For more details you can go to these places:

If you believe our constitutional rights, specifically the 2nd amendment, are under attack by our federal government and believe our local government should stand up and speak out against it, please contact our city councilmen and let them know how you stand on this issue.

You can call this number to leave a voice mail or speak with them:

972-771-7700

In addition, if you support the 2nd amendment resolution please attend the next council meeting to show your support. It will be an open forum meeting where citizens may speak to the council regarding any issue for 3 minutes. Please consider speaking.

City Council Meeting 385 S Goliad Monday, March 4 6:00 p.m.

Typical political two step: first one to say they support the second amendment and the second step to do the opposite.
