The system is infested with arrogant, controlling people who think that they, and they alone know what's good for all of us. Unfortunately for us, these are the people who's arrogance and condensation overcome their fear of losing personal privacy and put themselves up for election.
So, we are stuck most of the time with a choice, as "they" say, between the lesser of many evils..
How to fix the problem, I haven't a clue.
Maybe we should just pick politicians like we pick jurors...put everybody's name in a hat and do a random drawing. If the person is literate, a citizen, is not a felon & does not violently object...they are in for the term.

You do not own any elected office, the public owns that office.
Elected positions are temp jobs.
You serve the people, they do not serve you.
The 2nd amendment was never about personal protection or hunting or sport shooting. It was and is only about the right of the people to protect themselves against tyranny. To protect themselves against people in government that act and think like you have.
You are in the wrong business. You do not even understand your job and role as a person that has been elected. Best that you resign and do something else that does not trod on the rights of others.
