Just a month after Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed the strictest gun control law in the country, state officials plan to make some exemptions.
The law toughened restrictions on military-style rifles and high-capacity semiautomatic handguns, but those restrictions will be changed so those types of weapons can be used on the sets of television shows and movies being shot in New York.

Everybody in NY should apply for a SAG card and organize themselves into film clubs.
Wanna bet every cop in NYC is violating the law on a daily basis.

It's always about pandering to the gays, isn't it Cuomo?
So if I rob a bank in NY, I just have to yell, “I’m making a movie!”?
Cops exempt, Hollywood exempt....everyone is exempt except for the person who really needs it! The 110 lb woman walking alone in the dark alley. So much for dems being for “women’s rights”
All replica firearms are registered with the city and can be rented only from specialty supply shops. The replica firearms can only be rented for the duration of the city permit by the studio. I believe only 1 such replica store remains in the city...
Cuomo Announces Plans To Modify Gun Control Law To Exempt Film Industry Bill of Rights

This is worse than the camel’s nose under the tent... The camel has taken over the tent and is sitting on the couch telling the other guests to leave.
That must explain why the murder rate in NYC is so low.
Most certainly. Gun control isn't about making sure nobody has guns, it's making sure that only the right people have them. When they talk about "keeping guns out of the hands of those who shouldn't have them" they mean "out of the hands of anyone who might use them to oppose our power."
Heh. I guess there’s a line in a song for every occasion...
“...The little girl wants to be an actress...”
Yeah, well, now might actually be a good time.
Lock ‘n’ load, sweetheart.
Why are state legislatures and congress in existence anymore. A bill is passed and signed into law then the “chief executive” cherry picks the law.
No! That would not be fair to the local criminals. Losers from LA get to parade these great weapons around in their faces??
Best to ban all assault weapons in films as well. Stop the madness. Make every action film about who stole the chocolate chip cookies or who filed fraudulent tax returns.
