Gov. Chris Christie will expand the state's Medicaid program to cover 300,000 uninsured New Jersey residents, The Star-Ledger learned today.

The governor's new budget, which he plans to unveil at joint session of the Legislature this afternoon, also relies on state revenue growth of 4.9 percent and delays some property tax rebates for local taxpayers, according to three sources with knowledge of the budget plan who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Isn’t this the same Christie that many are touting as the Great Conservative Hope?

It’ll be fun in four years when he’s running for President and slinging insults at far better conservatives than anything he could hope to be.

Maybe it’ll finally toughen some people up on the right.

If the New World Order elites want him to be prez he will be. We taxpayers determine nothing at this level of corruption.

I hear working for a living or being a citizen is overrated anyway.

Medicaid costs are squeezing the states.

Christie is the latest GOP Governor to accept 100% federal funding of Medicaid. It was too good a deal to turn down.

How about looking at it this way: why not? Obamacare is headed for a fiscal and manpower cliff so why not pile everything into it?

It gives the states additional money, but of course the citizens of the states furnish this money through federal taxes.

If the various governors are worried about their reelection then the state’s citizens must be considered a driving force at least equal to that of the governors.

GOP governors in Blue States are trying to get re-elected.

They’re not stupid. They read the election returns last November. They’re only doing what voters who re-elected Obama want.

Quote: “GOP governors in Blue States are trying to get re-elected. They’re not stupid. They read the election returns last November. They’re only doing what voters who re-elected Obama want.”

Is that what Christie was doing when he gave Obama a late election photo op that helped (in small part) create those election results? The mistake that these governors in Blue States always make, that RINO’s always make, is assuming that in a blue state, democrats will cross the line and vote for a Republican. Lemme tell ya, if Chris Christie had personally rebuilt every house destroyed by Sandy, the people living in those houses would say, “thank you” and promptly march to the polls and pull the lever for the “D” as per their programming.

The key to victory in a blue state is tapping into voter discontent with the other side (you know, the thing that gets the R in the office in the first place). But guys like Christie just can’t do that because once he gets into office he gets all “reachy acrossy the aisley” and simply can’t attack his new “good friends” on the other side of the aisle. Meanwhile, his “good friends” on the other side of the aisle will be kicking him right in the nuts.

"They’re only doing what voters who re-elected Obama want."

Great strategy (Which is easy to figure out BTW, explaining this does not make the actions responsible) considering voters for limited government which helped Scott and Christie get elected in the first place will most likely not make that mistake again. I believe a conservative backlash is coming which will dampen a lot of moderate civil servants, hence the need to whore themselves out to the gimme crowd.

If you go down, becoming a prostitute is not honorable at all. Lukewarm pragmatic civil servants are why we are over-regulated and in debt. Even if they survive, (*Cough* Brown *Cough, cough* got taught a lesson) future generations get the shaft.
