House oversight panel Chairman Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) has agreed to Democrats' request to hold one or more hearings on economic risks from climate change, but while the decision appears to be a significant break from House GOP leaders' opposition to climate hearings it is unclear whether it will change other committees' reluctance to hold such hearings.
Given the uncertainty over the fate of climate change hearings in the Republican-controlled House this year, Democrats are launching a new “Safe Climate Caucus” with a strategy of daily speeches to pressure GOP leadership into addressing climate. The caucus “is banding together to end the conspiracy of silence in the House of Representatives about the dangers of climate change,” said House energy panel ranking member Henry Waxman (D-CA).
Issa's decision to begin hold hearings on the risks from climate change is in response to a request by oversight panel ranking member Elijah Cummings (D-MD), which he submitted after the Government Accountability Office (GAO) listed potential fiscal liabilities from climate change as a “high risk” area in need of major reform.

I disagree. Congressional hearings are not for airing out opinions and getting to the truth. They are for political power plays, media sound bites, and masking of the truth with manufactured drama. The Democrats are masters at this, and they have the media to help them. The Republicans cannot play in this league and they have no help from the media.
The Democrats will win points with the public in spite of bad science, and global warming (climate change) will be revived as a political cause. Issa did a fair job in the Fast and Furious investigation, and yet nothing has come of it. If you can't nail them with the kind of clear evidence that was available in that case, why would you expect Issa to win any points in the murkier climate debate, where weather anomalies such as heat waves or tornadoes can be used to sway public opinion?
Well, they certainly try.
But we got the "What difference does it make?" soundbyte out of Hillary a couple weeks ago (that's the only lasting soundbyte). And we got Hagel on the record stumbling around.
And this was all despite the Dems trying as hard as they could to cast halos over their testimony.
I think these hearings will be beneficial to our side especially with Issa presiding and deciding on the list of people who testify. Their side just isn't going to come up with anything game-changing IMO. I suspect we're going to see the opposite . But it remains to be seen.

I am convinced that none of the Dems/leftists etc really believe tha global climate “change” crap anyway, only the low level drones do. The upper guys know it’s just a tool to usher in tyranny.
With each passing day, it’s starting to appear that the GOP wants to take away the money belonging to Americans just as badly as their comrades on the other side of the aisle.

They could get every ethical scientist out there to testify against this hoax, the media will never tell you about it, and no Congressman's mind will be changed anyway.

I follow Joe Bastardi on twitter. Just last night he posted an article about the newest low temperature record in the northern hemisphere last week. -92 Fahrenheit in Siberia.
That’s nearly 20 degrees colder than overnight lows the mars rover is recording.
I think Soros may be getting close enough to the final event of this coup that he is dropping the sheepskin covering of feigned R resistance that has been tricking people into thinking that we still have an intact Republic. 2008 was a coup; everybody in DC knew that long ago. The pretend battles in DC at this point are basically just staged wrestling matches. The D’s will always win on the stuff that Soros considers important. It’s all a charade.
One of the R Presidential primary candidates said within earshot of Lawrence Sellin that the reason nobody will touch the eligibility issue is because they know that the issue goes WAY deeper than anybody is willing to delve. They know 2008 was a coup and that we have a foreign enemy combatant occupying our White House and infiltrating every government entity with our enemies.
I’d almost stake my life on the threat to the media company heads (that we know was made in Oct of 2008 and again shortly after the election) being another run on the bank to collapse the world economy, if they didn’t do as they were told (at that point it was to remain quiet on Obama’s eligibility but I’m sure it’s moved on to other things in addition by now). Soros’ communist and Islamist allies demonstrated in the Sept 2008 run on the bank that with the fiscal mess we’ve got - where the whole world is dancing so close to the ledge of no return - they have control of enough money to collapse the whole thing. I believe they have gone to one person after another, as their position became critical, to tell them they WILL do as they are told, or the economy will be collapsed. Including GW Bush, Dick Cheney, John McCain, Mitch McConnell & John Boehner (whose job is to control the R’s in Congress through their own threats), the eligibility judges one after another and including Chief Justice John Roberts, etc. At this point I suspect it’s probably been passed on to Darryl Issa also.
The charade part of this coup may be coming to a close. If what I suspect is true, that would mean the big deadly final event in this coup is not far away. My suspicion is either an EMP attack in our southern airspace (which goes totally unmonitored on March 15, IIRC) or a coordinated biological WMD attack from the Hamas and Hezbollah operatives that were flown from Iran into Venezuela on direct unchecked flights and then assisted to come in through our soft underbelly by the Mexican drug cartels who are allied with Islamic terrorists and armed by Eric Holder. Possibly biological WMD attacks could also be coordinated with the run on the bank that Soros has been threatening all along - just as a lovely communist a-hole’s way of saying, “SUCKAS!!!!”
Obamacare is very quickly destroying the healthcare system here. DHS has bought up enough hollow-point bullets to shoot every person in America something like 5 times and is ordering more. Last I read, it looked like FEMA has caskets that would allow for the burial of millions of people, by putting ashes from multiple people in each casket - which sounds like they’re planning on mass deaths in many local areas. If biological WMD’s have been brought in by Hamas and Hezbollah, they are probably in every major US city, awaiting the signal for the attack.
These people (the communists and Islamists in Soros’ alliance) are evil, they have long intended to destroy this nation and the people within her who love freedom, and they took our vulnerabilities very seriously while we all preferred to talk about the pretend boxing match they set up for us to be distracted by, scared sh!tless of being called “conspiracy theorists” for saying that the people who have said outright that they are conspiring to destroy America.... are actually doing what they’ve said.
We brought this on ourselves. At this point, I believe only divine intervention can save us from getting what we deserve.
Politicians do not care about logic or science. They view those things as but mere nuisance.
I suspect Issa is interested in the facts and science.
We can’t even get good legislation to the floor. My congressman sponsored H.R.750 - Defending America’s Affordable Energy and Jobs Act (To preempt regulation of, action relating to, or consideration of greenhouse gases under Federal and common law on enactment of a Federal policy to mitigate climate change.) in 2011. It was sent off to committee where it died of old age.
