Iran is "closer than ever" to the ability to build a nuclear bomb, Israel said on Thursday, as a new UN report said Tehran has begun installing next-generation equipment at one of its main nuclear plants.
The International Atomic Energy Agency's report said Iran started installing new and advanced centrifuges at Natanz, which would enable it to speed up the enrichment of uranium.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said the report was "severe," and "proves Iran is continuing to rapidly advance to the red line that the prime minister drew at his speech in the United Nations."
"Iran is closer than ever today to obtaining enriched material for a nuclear bomb," the statement read.

An Iran armed with nuclear weapons is by far the most dangerous development of the post Cold War world and Cold War strategies will not suffice in dealing with it...
This isn’t just on Obama. Under Clinton we knew that Iran’s nuke program was a weapons program. We’ve known for 20 years. Not even Bush 43 took decisive action to stop it. Obama has done the same as Clinton and Bush, kicked the can down the road, hoping that Iran doesn’t get a working bomb and test it on his watch.
We haven’t even had meaningful sanctions on Iran over the past 20 years. Not that sanctions work, but the idea that we’ve had them on Iran is actually a myth.
Of course Iran is “closer than ever” to building a bomb. They are on a development program to create one. So by definition every day they get a little but closer, thus making them “closer than ever” each day they do not suffer a significant setback. Of course the philosophical engineering types (yes there are some) would say even setbacks are inevitable and must occur and be overcome. So even their setbacks are things they have to work through, thus they are always making progress, getting closer than ever.
didn’t “The One” claim that he was going to sit down with the leader of Iran and slap him around for a while?
Obama claimed that he was going to talk directly with Iran. Even the French told him that was naive because they had been talking to the Iranians for years and knew that Iran wanted nothing from the West. There was nothing to barter with.
Then the Iranians themselves make Obama look foolish by repeatedly rejecting direct talks.
Ironically, the US has been talking directly to the Iranians through back channels for years without any progress anyway.
The fact is, the Ayatollahs want nuclear weapons most of all and aren’t interested in trading anything.
And when they get one, they’ll use it. It’s their creed.
Obama has the same goal as Iran. The elimination of the “Big Satan” and the “Little Satan”.
Hey Bibi, don’t wait for Iran reaching the red line.
Then they will look and see that it was during the 0bama regime and say "oh, nervermind".
If NK has one, Iran has one.
It’s that simple.
I’m over saturated with those who wish to suck the USA into another war. If Iran is a problem for Israel then let them deal with it and let only their citizens sacrifice. We’re broke in the USA and my first concerns are to my children and grandchildren and not to some other country that is in better financial condition and has much less debt per citizen than our country. We must get the USA back on track or we’ll have nothing.
I know some may disagree but that is what believe. We’ve burned out the USA and we need to rebuild it.
Its going to be very difficult to stop them acquiring one.
Were we expecting them to get further away as time passes?
