Same thing as with someone trying to steal, rape, etc. bunch of cowards when they are confronted!
Had some big dude approach me from behind one night when I was locking up our business. It startled me and I turned around and yelled at him because it really *issed me off and he took off. Could have ended a lot different had I acted afraid of him or actually had any common sense to be afraid!
