Bob Woodward said Sunday Democratic senators have called the White House asking if defense secretary nominee Chuck Hagel will withdraw his nomination only to be met with an emphatic “no,” in an interview with “Fox News Sunday”:

My friends, Hagel is not qualified, my friend, but I will not hold this vote up any further, my friend. You can be disagreeable, my friend, but if you are disagreeable, people won't forget that, my friend.

Does McCain make any sense here, my friend?

Hagel and Obama could start loading many Jewish-American voters into boxcars, and they'd be thanked graciously for the free ride.

I've said before that Obama could nuke Tel Aviv and it wouldn't hurt his Jewish support.

I’m worried that McCain and Graham will fold after making noises and vote for cloture along with a few other liberal Republicans.

I'm seeing a possible split between the lovebirds. Smoke signals from this morning's talking head shows suggest Graham is digging in, and McInsane is saying he wants to cave after recess. McInsane will bring enough Senators to collapse to opposition to Hagel, and I predicted this a week ago.

McCain is either a liar or a complete idiot.

No either or about it, he's plenty of both!

McCain is either a liar or a complete idiot.

The two are not mutually exclusive.

Often I think McCain is a deep cover agent for the Rats who exists to put the knife between the ribs whenever he can do the most damage.

Exactly. He has been used to getting his way his entire life, it will piss him off to no end when he is told no. I just wouldn’t want to be near him when that happens.

I just wouldn’t want to be near him when that happens.

And he wouldn't want to be near Michelle when that happens.

I like it when his voice goes up when he gets stressed out; the shoulders come up, the swagger disappears. Yep, I like it when he's shrill. We need to work that yapping punk like the eight-year-old brat that he really is.

That’s not what HotAir is saying. They have Woodward saying that senators are calling the WH and asking IF they are withdrawing Hagel’s name. HotAir is not saying that the Dems are demanding or even asking for Hagel’s withdrawal.

Shouldn't that sentence begin, “The vote of the Israel hating Jewish DemocRat Senators...”? For the life of me, Liberman is the only Jewish Senator who votes 100% pro Israel I can think of. The rest might as well be classified as Muslim sympathizers. Reminds me of Progressive Republican RINOs who are nothing more than DemocRat Socialist sympathizers.

You can stop worrying, Mccain and Graham will fold.

It’s a sure thing.

If the Democrats don’t like Hagel they can vote against him.

Ha Ha Just joking they wouldn’t dare vote against their Monarch.

I have long thought hagel was Obama’s head fake in order to gain sympathy so his real selection would be confirmed with little obstruction. Someone like Awad, Lewis, Ayer...

"McInsane will bring enough Senators to collapse to opposition to Hagel, and I predicted this a week ago."

Because McCrisis fantasizes that he can control Kerry and Hagel.
