How would we know the difference? They've been at war with humanity for centuries.
They've been in conflict with the rest of the world for over 1400 years, and many parts of the world have been in regional hot wars with Muslims, but, I wouldn't classify those as world wars comparable to what WWI and WWII were. WWIII will be a hot war, involving many countries around the globe.
