BOONEVILLE The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service are investigating two more bald eagle deaths in Arkansas.
The eagles were found in Logan County just south of Booneville. Earlier this month, an eagle was found shot near Highland in Pike County. That bird death is still under investigation.
The two eagles in Logan County were found near the Golden City Church in early December and have been undergoing necropsies for the cause of death. Tests revealed that the two birds died of poisoning.
State and federal officials are asking for help in solving both cases. The AGFC is offering $1,000 and the USFWS is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to a conviction of the person or persons responsible for killing the Logan County eagles. The identities of persons who provide information will be kept confidential.

And 2000 babies were probably killed by abortion and that is CELEBRATED!!
No real American would do this. It is some malcontent who should emigrate to some place he be happy
Ann, is abortion (ritualized infanticide) a horrible problem? Yes, absolutely. Does that make poisoning bald eagles non-news? no.
Years ago, I’m thinking over 50, my cousin in law’s father would shoot at any raptor. He was a sheep rancher in Texas. No one messed with his sheep. I don’t even know if there were bald eagles in Grayson county but if he had seen one, he would have shot it.
The ROP hates these birds as much as it hates dogs...
goat ranchers
They were carrying off my cattle.
We have several sheep farms here and I always see red-tail hawks flying around with a sheep in their talons.
May have been trying to poison coyotes, and the eagles got into the bait. Would be my guess.
I know you’re just kidding. But here in Oklahoma I have heard of Red-Tails taking small dogs, puppies, kittens, etc.
I have mouse bait in secure locations, but I’m constantly on the lookout for dead ones so kitty doesn’t find them first. But I’m concerned about the ones that go outside to croak. Lesser of two evils, I guess.
(Yes, I know, I’ve tried all kinds of non-poisonous, but I’m talking about hard-to-reach areas).

That’s a possibility. Bald Eagles can be scavengers.
But...but...but...I have heard it is OK for Native Americans to shoot them for religious reasons.
LOL. Maybe tiny baby sheep but this is in Texas and I’m guessing that the hawks were pretty good size.
I believe they're allowed to go crazy on peyote, too.
When we lived at HOPE NM, back in 1956 we would often go out to ranch south of there. We would see dead coyotes, Golden eagles, and cougars hanging dead on the fence by the gate.
We would pull out the tail feathers of the eagles to fletch arrows.
We have huge numbers of bald eagles here in NE Arkansas.
You're in NE Arkansas now?
