On Wednesday's NBC Nightly News, anchor Brian Williams proclaimed that Florida Senator Marco Rubio taking a sip of water during his response to the State of the Union was "the televised moment from last night that just might live on forever." [Listen to the audio or watch the video after the jump]
Williams expounded: "Well, it's one of the cruelest aspects of politics in the television age. No matter how well-crafted the content, no matter how thoughtful a person you are, it's the television moments, the superficial, purely visual moments that are often remembered forever instead. And that will certainly be the case with Florida Senator Marco Rubio's GOP response last night."
The leftwing media will try to make sure it does, meanwhile the left can say anything at all and not be called on it
The funny thing is, actually Rubio is now getting support from people who previously rejected him.

In as much as that was the night of the SOTU address, that doesn't really say a whole lot for Baraqi's speech, now does it?
No reason on God’s good earth that taking the drink of water cannot be viewed as a quirky positive, an example of unscripted spontaneity.
These reporters are so evil they will have half the dunces thinking there is something wrong with taking a sip of water.

I didn’t watch the SOTU address but from what I have read about it it was the same old stuff we always get from the Dear Leader. Michael Barone has a good column about it, not finding any serious policy ideas in it but just a series of shout-outs to favored groups such as teachers’ unions, “greens,” and trial lawyers.
Williams ought to worry more about the sticky white stuff on his chin.

I made fun of my 99% libs at work when they were talking about this. I said he had to be stark raving mad to drink water. I went on about the now perceived lunacy of water drinkers. I think they realized it was pretty stupid. Sure was fun though.
