Robert Peterson did not have cancer (leukemia) when he married her, but he was 30 years older and she was his third wife, and one huge mistake. I’d call it his biggest mistake. We could never understand that marriage and never approved. You’re facts are correct regarding Roger Hedgecock and I was for Roger Hedgecock.

One day, I visited Bob in the old Marston House on 7th Avenue and had a stack of Hedgecock for Mayor signs in my VW Convertable to take home to Pacific Beach to place around my neighborhood. Maureen was there and she was pleased at all when she spotted those signs...lol.

The O’Conner’s were always trash. Her oldest brother, Denny was shot and killed at the old Campus Drive-In theater way back in the late 50’s or 60’s. The family lived on Dove Street in lower Mission Hills.

I thought her brother was stabbed at the Campus Drive in on El Cajon Blvd. The story I heard is that the O’Connor brother attacked a guy with a knife. I heard that the victim of the attack acted in self defense and O’Connor was stabbed with his own knife and there was no prosecution. I had the misfortune of meeting some of the other dirt bag brothers at the Lamplighter Bar in Mission Hills years ago. I never went back there again.

You bring up some good stories that Helen Copley never published.
