Not quite Fat Kim; only certain among us will be prohibited from defending ourselves. Probably be some form of thought or correctness testing.

Oh, man. This is the slimmest SOTU thread I have ever seen. It is getting less replies than the local County Commission Board Meeting.

Either everybody is over on the Dorner threads or nobody cares.

My guess is the latter...

"Don’t forget “infrastructure”.......roads and bridges.....blah,blah,blah."

Probably won't say "shovel ready", but if he does, all bets are off and drink, drink, drink.

I celebrate his love and welcoming arms for those patriots and immigrants who love America and happen to speak Spanish!

I think both of you will find that I'm a reasonable, non-volatile FReeper capable of having a civil discussion. Check my posting history if you wish and let me know if you find otherwise. With that background, I'd like to ask both of you for your opinions in a non-argumentative manner and without a gotcha intent. Instead, I'm just interested in the viewpoints of other intelligent Conservatives (which both of you clearly are) on a matter tangential to use of the Spanish language. If you will, I'll depart from that specific aspect of what may or may not constitute pandering.

Here in Texas, by far the largest Spanish speaking demographic is Mexican. We have a number of businesses that cater to that market segment and in a free enterprise system, certain tactics are used to appeal to that group. Do you think using the Mexican colors (red, white and green) for logos and other identifications is pandering or merely shrewd marketing?

What about businesses, owned by legal citizens of Mexican descent, that fly the Mexican flag (often seen on car lots around here) to attract customers? Do you find this acceptable?

Sarah Palin wears a pin with the flags of the United States and Israel. What would you think about a politician running for office here in Texas with a similar flag pin comprised but with the Mexican tri-color?

Like I said, I'm not trying to make this antagonistic but am curious about where you draw the line in terms of accommodation?

“The state of our Union” is stronger”

Yes...and in further news, the President is deluded.

What you say is all very true but truth is we need to learn to play the political game better than we have or keep losing. We are not losing because we advocate the wrong solutions or have the wrong message, we are losing because our messages are getting stomped on by a biased media and axelrod spinners who teach class warfare, its as all bush's fault and free lunches last forever.

Our messages are great. Our delivery and political speak not so much.

He just lied about 2T in budget cuts. We spent 6T in the last year alone. Most of it we didn’t have, and the Fed printed it out of thin air.
